Is it just me or does LG15 attract unstable people? ;-)
Seriously though, from the little I know about Tann there were some unfounded allegations about him being some sort of predator (no idea where this came from, it seems to be false if for no other reason than lack of evidence) and I think while he's currently a Thelemite, he's been a part of just about every sort of non-mainstream religious sect imaginable. I think there's something about an inability to choose a religion and being a member of like 20 at different times which imples deeper problems and insecurities.

Hye, I didn't follow up and read linked thread but I gotta say, trying different religions on for size doesn't mean you are unstable at all.

No no, and I don't want to appear that I'm saying it that way... but I did hear the number was around 20 and that he had been very much into quite a few of those in the past. Seeing as I heard he's 38... that's more than a couple religions a year at times. That's more than trying a few on for size. But what I meant was more of a combination of a couple other factors of which the religious switcheroo was one of.

Yes indeed, he found lg15 like others because of the Thelema relation and had that series called Ask a Thelemite, though I don't know if anyone ever asked him anything and I recall that was ended in anger a month or so ago as his lgpedia contributions just did, so seems like a trend.

Hye, regarding his 'stability' I can safely say the man knows his Thelema. Though a Neo-Thelemite as opposed to my traditional studies he is very stable and correct.
Like some occultists they study and branch out before finding a passion. My own current initiate has tried many paths. As an occultist by trade and by passion I respect him utterly. Bringing up unfounded mentions of being a predator is distasteful and frankly ridiculous considering Glenn has more charges against him.
You may dislike Tann but do not doubt he knows his 'new' Thelema. He has EVERY reason to take offence at Lg15.
P.S. Trying many religions when one is young means trying to seek truth and eventually tearing systems apart to find your own. The Thelema is ones own microcosm. Hence he found it.
Respect and rogering X

Oh yes I know, I said those charges were alleged. I really didn't follow that whole thing, only heard about it, and wondered where on-line community members would somehow even find out that kind of thing about another on-line person, based on the semi-anonymous nature of the internet to begin with.
I think the Crowley picture was a great move by LG15, really gave it a darker undertone to the otherwise pure girl, however it was a really bad move when they did things like include Thelema written in Greek in the corner of the new page. Implicating a real religion, as opposed to just a mention of a historical character, is when things went really bad and argueably offensive.

Oh yes, I adored the image of Crowley and that got me posting. As a kid raised in an OTO household I will still snort at Noa for saying Crowley was misunderstood. He was a fucker! But still a very integral awakening in that path. ( Edited to remove the word prophet as I hate that) He added that dangerous element to LG15, what rock and roll singers write about, what young occult girls have nightmares about But saying that I am honestly on Tann's side here, he gave this comment- Very true. When a large path is followed by the majority you are safe, when EVERYONE learns of the occult based on this then we return to witchhunts and *no* I am not overreacting before anyone claims so, I do recall the first forum and all the talk of evil sacrificing Crowley lovers. I spent many an hour even convincing people it was not so bad. *head shake* When one deals with a tiny and mostly hidden way then it is so easily warped in the minds of others. Others fearing the occult can be a boon we thrive upon and nurture for privacy but repeatedly the community has requested the creators remove themselves from the Thelema, A.'. A.'., OTO, etc and repeatedly they claimed it was nothing to do with it. As bloody usual they went against their words and ignored any fans. I am not a lover of the OTO though I hold them in high regard, I hope I do not seem to be overreacting but people can understand the issue here? America is already so biased against the occult. The creators are raping that for money and have been told so, yet still they do it. *winks* Tempy can be serious once in a blue moon, hehe. Edited to add: I am actually against Thelema being seen as a true religion as Crowley is also not a Godlike person to me. Imo it is an occult path but he helped rewrite Western ritual systems and THAT makes that original way so valid. Sorry, I will stop my rant :/ apologies.

Tannhaus wrote an article about himself at LGPedia. He hasn't deleted it, but he did add his disclaimer to the top. LinkHe describes the different religions he's been a part of (I don't think it's twenty...) and provides links to his videos and also his new website. So, in case anyone wants to know who he is, in his own words and not by hearsay, check out the article. Hye: His series is called "A Thelemite Speaks" not "Ask A Thelemite", so your lil remark didn't apply this time I also have no idea where those unfounded allegations come from. I think you might be referring to some phorum phlamer who just tried to insult him, but who wasn't making a real accusation. I'm not sure whether I'm with him or not on this issue. I feel that, on the one hand, he's clearly sensitive to how his religion is usually portrayed in a bad light thanks to Crowley's reputation, and this series might be the straw that broke the camel's back. On the other hand, I disagree with the way he seems to demand that the Creators completely detach their series from Thelema. I've listened to some of his "A Thelemite Speaks" videos and he's gone as far to say that it's illegal to defame his religion like that. If it were illegal, South Park as we know it would not exist, Dan Brown would have gotten sued over the DaVinci Code, and "Paradise Now" wouldn't be showing in theatres. Perhaps Tannhaus would just like a world where no religion is portrayed badly, not Thelema or anyone. Unfortunately for him, that's not the world we live in. Most of us are used to it and expected him to roll with the punches just like everyone else, but he's not willing to do that, so he did the only thing left to do: walk away. In all truthfulness, his energy is probably far better spent preaching to people who actually want to learn about Thelema. Most of us following LG15 only know as much as we need in order to follow the series, and don't have any intention of delving any deeper into it. Heck, I have enough trouble keeping my own religion facts straight without trying to understand Crowley's writings.

Lol, don't be sorry Temp. You brought up some very valid points. I really do think that because Thelema isn't a mainstream, or widely publicised 'religion' - or belief system, they can get away with portraying it the way they do. Even though they have given it a different name and altered it to make a religion that is created for the purpose of this story, anyone who engages with the LG15 videos as a fan is bound to research them, and inevitably - as we all have, come across Thelema.
Having said that though, Crowley is often portrayed as a satanic kind of figure in literature, films etc. which does not really give a balanced or, from my understanding, true account of everything he was about. I am not a Thelemite, and don't really know all that much about it. I have only heard of this belief system through researching literature. It seems a lot of writers like to involve Crowley when they want a dark or 'evil' undertone to their story.
I can see how Thelemites would get frustrated feeling that their beliefs are constantly being misrepresented. But it happens when any religion enters the media - fiction and non-fiction, and it just seems to be one of those things that we can't really do anything about. Even though I think it can be a shame to have this happen, when we are talking 'art forms' like LG (ie. not the news, which is meant to be ‘objective’), I think it's a great thing to have the freedom of speech to tell this story.
We can watch LG15 and get involved and interested in this 'made up' religion, but when there are so many parallels to a real religion, the creators would have to know that they are going to offend people. And I think it's great that the people who are offended, like Tannhaus, have the freedom to voice their opinions, and hopefully will be heard.
But really anything that involves religion, sex or politics is going to get people fired up. There are no two ways about it!

Yes Tannhaus on Sunday swore he was not going to post anymore in the forum, and that he was not going to have anything more to do with LG15, but guess what, he was back ranting and raving in the forums again today (Tuesday). I guess he's not a man of his word, or else he just can't get enough abuse (at least that's what he calls it).

He probably wants to stir the creators to a response. Or he feels that not enough people realise or care that his religion is being portrayed in this manner.

Tannhaus unimplodes at the LGPedia.
He removed the "disclaimers" from his userpage and article. I'm not sure if there's any forum announcement behind this, but I will check.
Additionally, one of our users, in her infinite wisdom, has proposed that we move some content from "Tannhaus" to the user page, "User:Tannhaus". How exciting.
