EPISODE 1: THE LONG WALK Danica wakes up in a strange place. vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=2019229887Recap:Doesn't start in the Senior Hallway, to say the least. We see Danica sleeping outside in some nice "PJs", she rushes inside, presumably to her bedroom, she washes her face (is clearly a bit disturbed), contemplates taking two pills, but doesn't, then sees that she is being filmed by camera. The camera has a Union Jack sticker on it. Danica's myspace leaves the impression that she is from Britian, actually, so maybe it is her own camera. Sort of a mysterious beginning for the series. Meta-Comments:- Starts with about a 3-second advertisement for upcoming moving "Hairspray." - Opening credits are very fast, just a few seconds (maybe 1/2 of how eps began for SamHas7Friends - ends with 15-second ad for Hairspray

an intersting first episode. Maybe Danica doesn't remember how she ended up outside but it will have been recorded on the tape.

I watched the episode thinking "this is ridiculous and weird." Then I realized I hadn't turned the music off of the game I was playing. It was very silent movie-esque. I expected a villian to come in and twirl his moustache at her. Much better with it's own music. not ready to stamp an opinion on it yet, though.

I'd say it looks good just from the screen cap.

First impressions: cool camera-work and editing. I am so tired of shaky-cam to achieve tension. So far, the cheese factor is very low. Not enough there yet to say anything, but started nicer than I thought it would.
Starting ad was fine. I wonder how effective the post-roll will be though, I was already reading comments below when it started.

So far, I like it. It has me interested enough at the moment that I really want to follow this series. I though it was fairly well done, and I hope it contines along this path.

Liked it, definitely a very professional production and I liked the way they worked in the "camera" in the first ep.
Oh, and Welcome plinstrot and krs42!
ETA: Anyone have a "read" on if they are going to do any kind of "interactive" supplementary material other than the character's MS pages?

this ep has over 45,000 views on myspace right now. (and ep2 already has over 12,000 in 4 hours). promising signs that the show is on a steep upswing in viewership.

I liked it.
But I don't like how there were 2 advertisements for the same thing.

But I don't like how there were 2 advertisements for the same thing. Why? Some people really dislike advertising and I've just never felt that way about it at all. Who cares? It was a total of 3 seconds at the start and 15 seconds at the end. I'm not trying to be rude, I just honestly don't understand.

Jay, I get absorbed in something and ads throw me back to reality all too quickly. I am definitely in the 'hates ads' camp especially when they are repetitive.

So if the ad wasn't there you'd just sit there for a while at the end of the video, looking at the black screen, processing the video, lost in the magical word that is Prom Queen?
