I like making videos and messing around with multi-media stuff. I study art and I share a flat in East London with my friend Charlie. She's a bit mad but she introduced me to vegemite so she can stay. What else should I say here..? 681 characters left... I like air, food, Final Cut Pro and people who try to make a difference. And - Fun fact... I once went to a pencil museum in Cumberland. 532 characters remaining..." Cast photo on the "KateModernProduction" bebo page: bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=43328848561st thought? if lg15 is ever like 90210, this is melrose place.

Vegemite? Whaaa?? Hmmm... I don't know about this, first impressions - it does look kinda Melrose... I don't want to just say I hate it already when it hasn't even started, lol... but I'm so tempted too. I was hoping they could bring back some of the mystery and suspense like the old LG, as it was said to be for an "older audience", but so far the "older audience" angle just seems to be a cheesy way of making a show about 20-somethings with some of the Order crap thrown in.

I'm lost, why would she need introducing to vegemite when marmite is in this country?

I'm lost, why would she need introducing to vegemite when marmite is in this country? well, this was meaningless to me until i googled it - they are basically the same thing then? they need a real brit to proofread all of miles' stuff.

well, this was meaningless to me until i googled it - they are basically the same thing then? they need a real brit to proofread all of miles' stuff. Yeah they are almost the same but vegemite tastes better, hehehe. Okay, okay, I'm seriously not about to jump on that bandwagon, which almost half of YT has jumped on. All the c's had to do was look at YT when there was that massive Vegemite war thing going on a couple of months ago. Then they would know that Vegemite is Australian. But I thought this was just common knowledge anyway. I started to think Charlie might have been an Aussie after reading this comment. Who knows? Or maybe the c's are trying to jump on the bandwagon as well?...hmmm.... a bit late, dudes. Anyway, I'd better stop talking about this crap now, it's not even all that good anyway. Now if they had have said Milo, I would have understood!

Ok...this is a long one but it will probably be the only one so bear with me. It's in two parts so it is a little easier to digest - or ignore - whichever you prefer.
Part One
whoa....looks like KTM is going to have a tough time getting past this group. I would hate to be in "her" shoes. In happier, more innocent days perhaps the Vegemite/marmite discussion wouldn't have come up
But then a thought occurs to me. If they hadn't made such a god-awful mess of LG15 and pissed -off so many people already I suspect KTM would not have to expect such a rough entry into the world.
I think a LOT of would-be "charter members" have become so skeptical at this point that anything short of Casablanca will meet with disdain.

Part TwoThe good news is that you will probably be spared my complaining and caterwauling. I'll be skipping it because I'm pretty sure I've seen this one before... The Story"A gang of hip young pals living in the same apartment biding, using Kate's flat as their de facto living room and lounge - the center point of their wacky life while they learn about life and love on the busy streets of London. Trying to keep there sense of humor through all the ups and downs! The Characters- There's the bright eyed, funny and irrepressibly optimistic Kate dealing endlessly with chauvinists and bad dates. She's got the brains and the looks she's just looking for a break. She's from an affluent suburban community where she met all the right people and learned all the right things. Following a failed long-long term relationship with the boy next door she decides it's time to see what life is like ion the "real world"
- Then there is the smart, practical, slightly less popular but empathetic Tom-Boy Charlie she's got a sarcastic quip for just about any situation. Raised by her dad and three brothers She swing a hammer or fix a plugged drain anytime and later on have a point with the boys and watch some "football". A little bit quirky but you can depend on her for has some very wise words
P.S. If she has ANYTHING to do with the tech world I will make it my destiny to blow... (whooops! probably not a even humorous in this day and age I guess. Sorry. In fact there will probably be a "very special episode" dealing with the threat of terrorism)
- Wait!...here comes Tariq the care-free wild and crazy dance until dawn Mid-Easterner a little cynical but a heart full of good will. He was raised in England but finds himself a victim of the "new racism". He's got a sharp-tongue and a bit of wit for anyone who might confuse him with a radical.
- And of course Gavin, hapless and somewhat awkward. He's handy around the house and handsome enough for the girls. He dates a different girl every episode but we all know it's Kate he has an eye for - or does he??
Well that just about wraps things up. Don't miss these special episodes: - "Should it be blue or pink?" - Kate deals with some mixed emotions and an ethical crisis when she thinks she might be pregnant. Don't miss this special episode featuring Elton John a as the druggist
- "Stop in the Name of Love" - Tariq heads for Heathrow to pick up Kate from her business trip when he is confused with terrorist and detained by a beautiful member of Scotland Yard. Meanwhile Kate is in a holding pattern with the man of her dreams - she thinks. A Two Part episode
- Charlie's in Charge - "Gavin is in love" and Kate's not sure how she feels!? Tariq has it out with a couple skinheads at the football game but Charlie has some surprises in store for these hooligans!
ok....quiet day at work...does it show?

I. Love. You. Slainte Elixir: Basically yes, both from yeast. Only marmite tastes better It is little details like this which let the writing team down because it betrays a touch of lazyness when it comes to avoiding the pitfalls of stereotyping. For example how Brits and Aussies are often confused. Umberto Eco has that nice little afterword at the end of Foucault's Pendulum where he goes onto explain how he creates his characters. He heavily researches the area, the food, political climate, trade, etc and from that a character makes itself. I am not suggesting they need to go to such lengths and I am not criticising them exactly, more suggesting that in this day of such a wealth of information online and even visiting London they get a feel for the details. Giant disclaimer: If an Aussie has introduced her to it, then I take my ponderings back. Though it is my opinion that focusing on an exciting plot in LG15 let down the characters.

That was a great synopsis Slainte.*applauds* Vegimite might is one gaff, but there is a second, Kate is supposedly an art student, but no self respecting art student would list Dali as a favorite or at least wouldn't admit it publicly. Or maybe it's a clue that Kate isn't really an art student. So far I am kind of enjoying Kate Modern, every time I open up my email lately another attractive young woman from LG15 has added me as a friend on bebo. If only I was that popular in real life.

Holy Shit! Ralf Little is one of the lads! How did I not notice before, he is really funny and a well known actor here. That's certainly a boost for them. www.imdb.com/name/nm0514644/
