Oh, man. Bree's picture on the front page of the LA Times. If no credible person who recognizes her comes forward now, I may just have to conclude that she's a space alien. That's true. That theory about no one recognizing her because at best only 3% of the population has seen her on youtube is about to change. That makes the Creators post even more reasonable. Maybe not that many people would have seen the online version, but a picture on the front page of the physical paper almost guarantees someone will recognize her. Like someone said earlier, next we'll see her candid Starbucks picture. Or maybe her and Lindsay Lohen getting into a limo.....

Hi All,
long-time lurker from the other board here. Well, with a pic on the cover of the LAT, I think the game's almost up as far as anonymity for the cast members goes. I'd been surprised all along that no-one had outed them, but then this wasn't that big a story in the "traditional" media until now.
Has anyone seen some of the outraged comments on YT?
It's like the scene at the end of "The man who would be king" when the crowd find out Sean Connery isn't really a god!

For those that said it wouldn't hit print: It's on the front page of the times today. That's really exciting for her and the people involved, and for us as well I think. It's cool when something you're invested/interested in gets major recognition. Sometimes, anyway. And yeah, the story of her parents having no idea this was going on has to be the FAKEST THING EVER. There's no way this could have gone for so long and with this kind of coverage without them knowing about it.

I had a small paragraph all to myself I'm so proud. I hope my boyfriend is successful in tracking down a copy.

I had a small paragraph all to myself I'm so proud. I hope my boyfriend is successful in tracking down a copy. I'm checking the bookstores after work. If I find one I'll buy 2 copies, and if you want I'll mail one. I've got to prove to my wife that I haven't been making all this sh*t up.

yeah what a weird pic for them to pick. I would have taken a screenie from "Excited" The picture probably aims to enphasize the confussion surrounding the whole saga. If she is confussed then what the hell is going on?

Most likely. It's an eye catching picture-- they don't have to make her pretty, lol.

Just wanted to point out a small factual error in the article's timeline. It says in late August the site's registration date of 5/12 was discovered. Actually it was much earlier, you can find references to google of people bringing this up on 8/10 if not earlier. Then sometime in mid-August we found Bree's Yahoo! email and I saw that it was registered 5/12 as well, leading to my belief that that was the day they laid all the groundwork for this operation (myspace registered that day as well, but wasn't brought up until July.)

The fact that the fansite was registered on 5/12 was discovered at least as early as July 19 actually (when the liquid generation blog posted about it). In fact, in the youtube comments, almost immediately after bukanator announced his fansite, it was exposed. db came on, or posted from the computer next to buka's at CAA's offices as the case may be, and gave the cover story.

For those that said it wouldn't hit print: That's really cool! Thank you for posting the image of the entire front page.

And of course it was the LAMEST cover story ever. At that point, as if it wasn't already clearly fake, I was like yeah... sure... Some people believe that in actuality Buka was just a fan who somehow gained their trust enough to become the creator of their website, despite him having basically no time, talent, or experience at it, but almost everyone I think universally didn't buy that lame-o explanation. Even though it seemed fake then, looking at it through this new light makes it that much more powerful.
