youtube.com/watch?v=Q3lCSLT-V9gSummary15OVER15: We've been here for an hour now, but still can't find the doorbell. Rachel's asking questions, and I don't blame her. I can't keep making up answers on the fly. I think I should tell her what little I know. It's too dangerous to wait around much longer, so I'm posting this via live upload. Hopefully we'll see or hear from you soon? xoxox, Linc ------------------------------------------------------------- Guess who else is back?

My thought process as the video was playing: * two minutes. nice a decent length video for the first time in a few days * lighting is gross, live upload, things are going down hill * Dialog is kinda iffy * wait, wait, Rachel is awesome as always * still a minute left, everyone is out of the shot... weak video * Rachel acting like a real person is a nice change from LG, still.. not blown away. * ZOMG!!!! * AWESOME! * I feel like such a fanboy now. It feels sort of dirty. I have two really strong hopes about this series: 1. They continue to make it accessible to people that only choose to watch the videos. 2. That it becomes way more popular because I'd hate to see it end early.

if this doesn't get phorumites in a frenzy, i don't know what will. This all begs the question: How can the c's trump this kind of buzz? This stuff is a hard act to follow, I don't envy their position and I doubt that the timing of all this is coincidental. This is gonna be fun to see how this all plays out. Dare I day it? Why of Course! Auteur Wars. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

This is gonna be fun to see how this all plays out. Dare I day it? Why of Course! Auteur Wars. Revenge is a dish best served cold. its fascinating on many levels. but will lg15 still have the fanpower to propel its fanfic to rabid-phan levels (like CiW did, and opaphid to a lesser degree?) Plus, I must add this: as someone who watched ciw and opaphid passively at the time, i didn't really love the videos. the first ciw--yes it was scary and didn't mix with what i thought lg15 should be back then. some of the opaphid/tachy videos had cool editing, but was a puzzle mostly. here (and i think terry pointd this out already) we have good acting along with the freaky elements of ciw/opaphid. and in rachel, an actress who could possibly rival jessica rose. its a great combination -- and there is an audience for it, if it can find it. can 15over15 leverage whatever audience is being drawn in by the season finale like ciw skimmed off the excitment of the outing?

Well, I don't think that fact that 15/15 was launched with a bunch of videos all released in a row... very much as LG has planned for the finale was coincidental. It seems less impressive when someone beats you to it.
I think in building up excitement the c's are losing this war pretty badly so far. But to be far, I think they might have had all of season one in the can before 15/15 made an appearance. Season 2 better open with a bang.
Surprisingly though, 15 over 15 is being largely ignored. Last I checked only 1 video had 1,000+ views... I'm not sure how they can gain attention, but I have a feeling that, like Brotherhood 2.0, once that does happen they will have a whole lot of new fans.

I'm not sure how they can gain attention, but I have a feeling that, like Brotherhood 2.0, once that does happen they will have a whole lot of new fans. the recent feature of b2.0 on youtube confirms that most of the youtube audience are lemmings. if they think something is already popular, they are prone to like it. witness smosh, brookers. if they watch b2.0 vids or 15over15 vids and see they have less than 1,000 views, they think "hmm, this must not be good." a few people, of course, are not afraid to just like what they like, like in our fair anchor cove. -- back on topic, is that chick in the video opaphid, or cassie (as represented in opaphid vids)?

Why does Op only wear sheets?!
She scared the crap outta me, though. Wasn't expecting it. I've been in two minds over this: I loved Maddy. I hated Op. So I've been in conflict. But I have decided that maybe it wasn't necessarily Op that I hated, but just that I felt Glenn's characters didn't fit in with the Breeniverse. But I think they do fit in here, maybe not all that well with the first Maddison chapter, but they do with the second.
I agree with Terry, I hope they do continue to make it accessible to people that only choose to watch the videos too. For something this involved, it would really limit the audience if you can only enjoy it by being part of the ARG.
As for gaining attention, I don't know how they can do it either. It's not like they can really advertise. I think it can only get noticed through us. We have to make the push - comment on it on YouTube, rate it highly and try to get others to watch. It kind of feels like old school LG again, we have to spread it virally, lol. It's not like they have a deal with Bebo or Myspace, or even have a Sophie/Bukanator to "support" them.

Milo, I think it was Cassie. As seen in this video and this one (Op's second video) wearing the same sheet. Cassie also makes more sense since the person in the video moved and acted more like a 'ghost' or whatever would and less like a trained killer (or whatever Op is). My eyes aren't playing tricks on me, Cassie is CGI, right?

Jay, I think it is mostly because that is the first time they encountered an ARG and just the concept of it blew them away. Most of the CiW fans are now ARG players, and likely will be for life, so it isn't all that surprising that when they think of their first time then tend to romanticize it a bit.
Milo, if people let views control their opinions, what happens if the view counter were hidden?

I thought the "live upload" was a nice mechanism for dealing with Who Sees What... Attention to detail is important.
Clever.

Terry, CiW was the first time i encountered an ARG, I didn't even know what one was at the time, so the concept seemed exiting and new to me, so I think you are right. I'm not much of a puzzle person, so spending hours trying to figure out the puzzles doesn't interest me, but I still enjoy being a spectator and reading how the puzzles are solved.
Jeromy has been good at giving a summary every once and a while that explains what was discovered in the puzzles, so that people who aren't involved directly in the ARG can get caught up, I hope 15over15 as a whole follows his example.
As far as drawing an audience, I agree, that is going to be a big problem, CiW, OpAphind and Maddison all relied on siphoning off a portion of the LG15 fans, mostly those visiting the forum. It's only an educated guess, but I estimate that traffic for Lg15.com now is about half of what it was during Maddison part 1, and at the time of OpAphid, and CiW traffic was about double what it was for Maddison part 1. Not to mention that good portion of the current generation of Phoumites weren't around for Maddison part 1 let alone OpAphid and CiW.
