I also vaguely remember this discussion, but If there is "clearly" any kind of symbol, I have totally missed it. at what minute:second are we supposed to be able to see this?

Sure looks like it. Hmmmm. Very clever of them if this is indeed it.
I suggest we let Slainte post this on the phorum, he is a member there. They ought to go nuts for this...
BTW, watching this vid again after all this time kinda gave me the creeps. It is VERY voyeuristic, but one of the better (and obviously oft discussed) early vids. The musical selection was perfect.

So Milo...Impressed? In the interest of full disclosure and to be sure I am not misrepresenting myself I only stumbled on this because it was briefly mentioned in a Phorum post - I'll check the specs in a few minutes, but I didn't wasnt to take credit here is the post on the phorum lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=310Sun Sep 10, 2006 3:19 pm

Evidently is old news at the phorum if you read through all the threads.
Thanks anyway Slainte!

This was the video that I think people thought was redone (or was that the hiking one) so it could have been added later than at the original time?
I read about it at the phorum too. I'm not sure what to make of it. I saw other pics from that clip where it didn't look like that at all.

hmmm. which came first? bree's weird birthmark which became the watcher symbol, or the watcher symbol was put on her back for the vid? if the latter, i'd better start studying longitude again or something, because i'm sure we've overlooked other clues.

I downloaded all the Revver videos onto my hard drive a long time ago -- just in case something like this cropped up.
My computer box tells me that I downloaded the videos on Oct. 11. As of Oct. 11 Bree definitely had that exact birthmark in the Swimming! video. But I think it's a real birthmark (or just a quirk of lighting) and any resemblance to the Watcher's symbol is merely our mind looking for a connection that's not there.

I don't know what to make of that. The think-as-you-go filming strategy of the Creators make me think they would not have done this on purpose, however the fact Jonastko was registered on Sept. 9 makes me question how much they actually DO think out long ahead of time. So while it's possible they put the eye on her, I don't see a reason for it. Since the eye wasn't introduced for like two months, there was no way for the fans to have picked up on this. Of course they noticed the birthmark, but of course didn't know what to make of it because they didn't know about the eye. As you can see it took this long for anyone to look back at it now and go "hmm"... I'm thinking that if it was meant to be noticed they would have introduced the eye not too long after showing the birthmark, not the amount of time that it actually took.

If the creators did put that symbol there, it would still be pointless. But putting that aside, look at the frame in context of the frames on either side of it. Marks on your body don't appear, change shape, then disappear as you turn very slightly. It's not a mark. It's a blob of sunlight. Possibly distorted by trees, wet skin, and/or video compression artifacts. Look at 2:55 on the revver version. You can clearly see a creepy eye "watching" Bree in the water: At 3:02, Bree appears to be pointing to another mysterious shape. Compare with this famous photo of the loch ness monster. I think I've been watching too long. Tell me, what do YOU see in this Rorschach inkblot test?

Okay, please tell me that the Rorschach is a digitally altered image of P.Monkey. If that's a random blob and I'm just visualizing P.Monkey then I must be going as insane as Bree.

Haha Smashing that was a hilarious thread. Classic! That thing at 2:55 gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "watcher in the water". And that ink blot P. Monkey is too much!! Vundeval!

Not only P.Monkey, but a rather sinister looking P-Monkey at that!
I agree with Smashing, though, that this "mark" on Jess' back is the sort of thing Richard Hoagland would write a book about.
Hey, maybe we should get NASA to send a Mars Rover to take better images! We'll recruit Jay to be the remote operator of the project to map the hills and valleys of Jessica Lee Rose.
You know, for posterity's sake. All in the name of science.
