music - all OK by something for rockets - This song was fairly engrained in my head during the search for Bree, and probably the Creatrors' too since they used it again in one of the Carmen Electra spoof videos.

rightoe... HerrDerDingehis: This is produced to get the kiddies exposed to indie label music artists via Active Direct corporation. It's a gimmick. Ain't real. Note NOW the producers are providing a link to the "music".
[who was this guy again? i forget his other handle, but i think its the same guy who later recruited the botanist to look at hiking, a nice guy once he confessed he didn't actually know who was behind it.]...

OK so here even the MORe LATEST NEWS- Bands that can't get signed to major labels have contracted with a vid producer who pays Bree and Dan to be in his vids. He designs the story lines, Bree and D are paid actors, BUT they put the indie band's music in the vids to get wider exposure that- not suprisingly, wld nevr get heard...

I think if you are trying to prove this fake looking at her music is the wrong way. First of all she does not list the music in all of her videos. Secondly she has used some very popular songs such as Grillz and Crazy which certainly don't need more exposure. Finally and most importantly, most of her music comes from ccmixter and have creative commons licenses. No one looking to make a big profit uses a creative commons license, it just wouldn't make any sense
...
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Ok, here is why this doesn't work. I shall take my favourite of the artists LG uses in her videos -- Pat Chilla the Beat Gorilla. Now you can note that his work is in two of her videos (July 13 & Aug 18). According to your theory then these are two paid ads to try and increase his popularly. First of all I don't understand why someone already very well respected in his community as one of the best remixers would be looking for further ego stroking, but let's assume he is
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
All of his music is freely available; he has no album and has expressed no interest in making any money off of remixes. So, why would he pay for advertising when he doesn't want to turn a profit? Ok, let's ignore that too; if he was paying for advertising do you not thing that he would want his full song played? I mean both videos not only don't play the whole song, they even hack it up awkwardly removing sections from the middle and making them not sound as polished as his real work
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Let's say these advertisers don't get music and think that these altered versions are actually representative of Pat Chilla the Beat Gorilla's music; odd, since that is their supposed business. Also odd considering they seem to be leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else in terms of viral marketing. Regardless, do you not think that they would at least credit him properly? His ccmixter username is Beat Gorilla, but he releases all his work under the full name Pat Chilla the Beat Gorilla
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Oh and don't get me wrong I do agree with you that this does all seem planned or scripted to some degree and it is getting a lot more exposure for musicians that normally get quite little. I just don't buy the theory that that is the point of the whole thing
lonelyfake15 (1 year ago) Marked as spam
terryfic: I'm trying to get a hold of these people anyway I can. Have two up and comings I want to pay them to fit in. My Gawd, you can't get this kind of repeat plays anywhere on format. School year is about to hit, kids be talking this thing up, buying the bands that "Bree" plays. Really, if they don't have that in their b.model, they're nuts. that's the first "obvious" use of the medium without "using" the medium. I call it the "silent treatment" of marketing to kiddies. FWIW

Hey lonelygirl producers. Send me a message. If you guys don't know what you've got on your hands, you need some serious consulting. Goldmine. Complete confidentiality. Send me through a proxy I don;t care. I'm getting out my pen for the non-disclosure ag as we speak.
lf15 also gets obsessed with the bree's father videos and keeps praising them and posting links.

ivanator, i'm with you - crowley must be discussed.
but lonelygirl15, here's a real easy idea for you, can you turn the camera and show us the view from your window? that would debunk those who think you're on a soundstage (which i don't believe).
[note: since bree's window let out onto a little balcony in a fairly busy LA neighborhood, this was not gonna happen.]------

I will definitely never burn p.monkey...but if it meant getting Daniel back in my life (hmmmmm.) No, seriously. He's safe. I value him highly even if he is a prima donna;
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Wait a second, what is the sex of P. Monkey. Didn't you introduce her as a she? Perhaps I miss heard. But I always thought it was interesting that a girl would make the gender of her favourite stuffed animal also female. Very feminist, it was the move of an excellent female role model. I actually think you being a strong, witty, intelligent, and attractive female role model might be part of why you attract so many haters.

terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
I think it is unlikely that this is marketing. Take a look at the creative commons licenses for many of the songs in her videos. They can only be used for non-commercial means. I suppose they could have gotten releases from all the original artists, but it seems like an odd way to supply a soundtrack.

Mate, I learned a long time ago that you can either stand at the back of the room being cynical and patting yourself on the back for being oh so clever, or you can join in and have some fun. Regardless of whether this is scripted or not, if you enjoy her videos it is far more fun to play along and get swept up in the moment then it is to just sit around and make fun of people enjoying themselves.

lonelygirl 115 - that's not lonelygirl5. OK so here's the latest... entertainment media rumor is that an outlet is about to offer a cash reward for the scoop on the this Bree Daniel thing. who they are, who's behind them... like I said blood in the water.. they better rap up the story line... shits about to hit the fan... Matt Drudge might even be on to this.. weird... we'll see.

Im sorry to say that LG15 target is losers, losers are the ones attracted to this plot, and those losers are the ones that identify with her and will buy LG15 socks when they are on the market, you are being manipulated like when Beckham tells you to buy the new Phillips shave, Britney is to wannabees what LG15 is to Losers..vow to your new Loser icon, hail to Bree.
HyeMew (1 year ago) Marked as spam
I resent that charge. Just because people enjoy Bree's usually witty humor and entertaining videos does NOT mean they will buy her socks. I really don't see a big market for Bree merchandise, there's only so many people willing to buy Bree boas and safari hats. Though I think having your own P. Monkey could catch on...

Lonelygirl15 makes it on suicidegirls.com. No not a photo shoot but a great article. Here is a portion of it: "Lonelygirl15 is every nerd boys dream. She is drop dead gorgeous, ferociously well read, interested in science and geek humor, and here's the clincher: she has repressive, religious parents who have home-schooled her and so she doesn't know she's hot or that you're a social pariah and undesirable." No, I'm not gullable. There is possibly much in her videos that is fiction, but that doesn't bother me.
I have come to believe that Bree is the talent behind the videos, there is no production company.
Talented at what she is doing! She has an audience now of over a quarter of million.

But as far as stalking, I think there is a definite difference between that and investigating, namely the motive. And sorry if you don't like all the sleuthing, but I always end up hearing about these internet games after they are over. It's fun to get to play along for once
----
steveM999 (1 year ago) Marked as spam
terryfic, what "motive" are you looking for? If this were all a stealth marketing scheme she wouldn't be so one-of-a-kind. Industry buzz would have hastened numerous imitators onto YouTube by now with similarly cute girls and story arcs. I say forget the conspiracy nonsense and just enjoy the content. If you end up subliminally being sold feather boas, let me know.
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
When I said motive, I was referring to my motive behind investigating her and how it is an investigation and not stalking. I am interested in the story of LG, not LG herself. Also I have repeated said that I do not think this is marketing, largely due to the non-commercial licenses associated with the music in many of her videos. I do not think there is a big conspiracy. My belief is this is nothing more than a couple kids playing with (and accidentally succeeded on) a new medium
lonelyfake15 (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Terryfic: go to sterogum.com. click on the story about this and read the comments. One of the non-disclosure people has opened their mouth. Its a weird deal. been bought and paid for apparently. About religion in a weird way. Guess that's it. Who knows...

So you have absolutely no faith in the idea that this could be true, yet you have absolute faith that some random person, who makes spelling errors and repeatedly does not capitalize 'I', who just posts anonymously on a web forum describing a vague idea with no evidence of any kind? Sounds pretty reliable to me, oh and I heard from another insider that she can definitively be linked to 9/11 and is hiding WMDs as well.

Virginia Heffernan at the NY Times posted a new piece on LG15 which includes a long e-mail from the girl herself. I think I might be changing my position from thinking this is not something commercial but just some kids having fun and telling a story,
to this might be totally real. Yay Bree ! It's gotta be a complement for everyone to think you are too good to be true
steveM999 (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Hey terryfic, not everyone thought she was "too good to be true." Many of us felt all along she was genuine, if a little hammed-up at times. Of course, the cynical times we live in predispose people to spotting fakery whether it's there or not, hence the "aboreals" and "lonelyfakes" that pollute our midsts. Fortunately, there are people like yourself who've become skeptical of their skepticism and recognized Bree for who she is: an impressive auteur trying to make a place for herself in YouTube.
HyeMew (1 year ago) Marked as spam
I never thought she was something commercial- I always thought she was a part of a few kids having fun and telling a story to see if they could get popular. They probably have had some sort of experience with writing or film before, but like in the high school or college class sense of the word, I don't see this as being professional, though at times extremely witty to the point it makes me think they have a lot of writers. ----

terryfic, love you man, but i'm starting to think you're a plant too. Heffernan wants to believe.
terryfic (1 year ago) Marked as spam
Hehe, you are not the first. There is really nothing I could ever do to try and prove you wrong, since it would just be called a cover up. On another note, I do find it a bit suspicious that the e-mail printed in the NY Times is very similar but not identical to the bits of e-mail the British Times Online published on the 19th. They are not word for word the same, so it is not a form letter. But the tone and topics are very similar, pointing towards her having a standard media release letter

When it comes to the theory that lonelygirl is a promotion vehicle for indie music, if that's the case then you can go back to some of her earlier videos and see that I had guessed that way back when. It was the only thing I could fathom it could promote other than monkies and boas. However, ironically enough I think, despite the song names going in the video titles, that the music has gotten the LEAST mention of anything in the LG series. I must admit I do find a lot of the music cool though.
