I Probably Shouldn't Post This (Aug. 15, 2006) (1:30) www.youtube.com/watch?v=rafpJ7DzqQ4Bree drops the F-bomb. I started watching LG about five days after this video came out, and I remember it was a huge controversy that Bree cursed. Youtube views as of Aug 29, 2006: 587,407 (The 2nd most viewed video at the time) Current number of youtube views: : 1,043,496 youtube comments of note from members of anchor cove:HyeMew (Mr. Nostalgia?)(1 year ago) Please go back to the cute and smart stuff. I think this episode is when lonelygirl15 JUMPED THE SHARK. :-( HyeMew (1 year ago) BREE CURSED?!??!?! Anyway, I love how the title is "I probably shouldn't post this" because that's exactly Bree's method for drawing us in more, continuously posting staged things here to draw us in further. Now the juicy stuff is starting to happen. However its been a long time and the plot line hasn't moved much, what happened to camp? Now summer is really over. Also I notice Daniel is now barefoot too, a real trend. DanielGardner (1 year ago) I tried to open a page for lonelygirl15 on Wikipedia, but the admins don't think she's famous enough. Go to WIKIPEDIA and show support for the lonelygirl15 page!! (Daniel aka tunafish was an early fan and member of the Cove. There was a huge debate at wikipedia in this time period, which Jay has noted before).robtomorrow (1 year ago) To all the haters... DON'T WATCH THEM IF DON'T LIKE THEM To all who think they are fake... SO WHAT? you never heard of fiction? The rest of us find lonelygirl15's videos facinating. terryfic (1 year ago) This was a decidedly less cheerful and fun follow up than the one last time you two posted mean videos about each other. terryfic (1 year ago) I think the progression of off screen to on screen action is interesting, LG use to tell us about her conflicts after they had happened and now we are shown them as they happen. I think I preferred the old format; it was more comfortable to watch. This had some voyeuristic elements, but at the same time they're very self aware of the camera making the audience almost feel like they shouldn't be watching this, or feel bad for enjoying it since that pleasure is a direct cause of the conflict HyeMew (11 months ago) I'd rather this episode be taken down all together. It completely shatters any realism LG15 might have had. You can tell this was an experiment LG15 and D tried- to test their improv skillz. While this episode is clearly unscripted (probably the only one to be)- its also obvious that with improvisation comes the breaking of characters. Their real selves come through a lot stronger than the characters.

I think I predicted the truth fairly accurately in that last comment!

This was also the video that prompted Brian Flemming to make his famous post about LG jumping the shark - www.slumdance.com/blogs/brian_flemming/archives/002277.htmlWhich led some over zealous sleuths to conclude he was the mastermind (so not the word I should use) behind LG. But he was dead on that this video marked the passage of LG from realistic to clearly fictional. And it has all been downhill for me every since.

Oh yeah and that's when I wondered if he stole the jumping the shark claim from my post or on his own. Most likely on his own as my comment was probably just lost in the millions of others, unless I repeated that sentiment at the forum, and anyway it's a well-known phrase so not like I cornered the market on using it. But it was interesting to see him using it in that well-known entry at the same time I was.
