Yeah, I frankly think the age of Cassie as a prescence in the Breeniverse has passed and the time for mystery is over. The show has so completely departed from anything it ever was back then that Cassie is a complete anachronism anyway.
I really don't buy the Creators denials. They've been known to pad their story with 'fan creations' (a la Nikki B) who, even in the face of obvious canonization (discovering Alli D.) was still maintained by them as a fan creation not connected to them... and then proceeded to canonize her :-? . There is prescendent for them to claim they had nothing to do with a character, with their definition of "not connected" being so loose that none other than one of their wives being the producer still implied no connection because the three Creators were not personally behind it. This leaves open a ton of possibilities of people they know who they let get involved with Cassie without actually themselves controlling it. Though there have been denials that friends were involved (from Glenn at least, not sure if the Creators ever said so) I really don't see how anything less is possible. We've never seen anything in the Breeniverse before or since that came close to matching the calibur of Cassie, both in engagement and cinematic professionalism that didn't end up being a part of the show. The mystery is such that even if the Creators are just as in the dark as we are about Cassie, we are left to wonder not only who it was but WHY they never showed themselves again to our knowledge.
Let's not forget that these fans didn't just find one place, they found two. The park was discovered for episode 2 despite no clues to it either. I was given the explanation that this "fan" just knew the area well, but to not only be able to find the swimming hole (odds... extremely slim) but a random park out of all the random parks in the LA area (sure if you knew them all REALLY well you might be able to figure out which one it was, but don't forget that the In the Park episode was filmed at night with almost none of it visible. It's basically Bree standing under a light and then some meanderings through the dark with no park landmarks recognizable. Sorry for not believing the explanation that it wouldn't be hard to track this park down with such "clues", but there's basically no way possible to find the right place (and be sure it even is the right place) without inside knowledge. Maybe finding one of them, the park especially, is a fluke, but lightning doesn't strike twice- especially with the average LG15 fan..
I think with the upcoming Cassie anniversary, we should really debate, discuss, and investigate her more- it's way more interesting than the current story at the very least.
