After that great piece by Elle Dee that Milo found, and after our resident architect wrote up a Visitor’s Guide summary of LG, I decided to finally do what no one else seems interested in – create video recaps of LG to reduce the barriers of entry and help new viewers catch up a little more quickly. I’m using a different channel for these because I figured that would be less confusing for viewers. The account is LonelyGirl15Recaps, check out the first two and let me know what you think. Am I hitting the right points? My goal with this project was to limit the use of non-canon material as much as possible. I wanted to avoid voiceover and title cards, instead of the characters, telling the story. I wanted to rely as much as possible on the original footage. I have already cheated on this rule, but I think overall I am sticking to it pretty well. I also wanted to try to capture more than just the overall story. I want to include the mini-story arcs as much as possible, and try not to lose the charm and humor in the original videos. I wanted to do one (3 min max) recap for every ten episodes, but by the second recap I realized that there is just too much material sometimes to pull that off. It is like trying to reduce a Readers Digest version of a novel – there just isn’t that much you can cut out before it stops making sense. If anyone has a particularly memorably scenes they would like me to try and include, be sure and mention them. Or if you have any thoughts about how I should approach future topics I’d love to hear them.

Simply outstanding work, and I know it that it was a lot of work to put these together. A couple of suggestions/comments: It is going to get considerably more difficult to do these (I think) once the plot kinda gets whacky. I don't have a way in my head to pull this off yet, but I will try and come up with some ideas. The current Gemma situation probably the best example of the ambiguity that runs rampant in the later episodes... I would give Cassie some mention, perhaps with the "rebuttal" that Bree issued later to put her in her RIGHTFUL place in the storyline. Chronologically correct of course. This may be the single largest barrier to entry for new (especially those visiting the phorum) viewers to grasp. How to explain the Cassie (still in full force I think) phrenzy? Kudos (and Exalt) Terry!

Wow Terry that was very cool of you to do. I know that you sometimes grow very frustrated with things. I hope this remains a "labor of love" for you.
Thanks again. I hope this will help new comers catch up quickly and easily. I know that I will use it as a reference point as I try - so far unsuccessfully - to hip people to this very odd past time of mine.
Parenthetically (I love that word!) I know many of us have trouble getting friends tuned in to this phenomennon. I was wondering if anyone else has kids that think you are crazy for watching this.

Simply Terryfic, as always. It was clear to me back when you did I am the very model of a popular YouTube auteur that you truly understood early Lonelygirl15. Quite an accomplishment even back then. If you can handle Episodes 19-1xx, you deserve a Pultizer or the Canadian equivalent. FLWright PS I've linked the recaps in the Visitors Guide. Perhaps we should link to Anchor Cove on the YouTube channel? (How presumptuous of me!)

Excellent work, Terry. A good resource for newcomers, as well as veterans, to put it in perspective.

The account is LonelyGirl15Recaps, check out the first two and let me know what you think. wanted to note that terry has now posted 7 recap videos - he has now recapped the lg15 series all the way through october. they are very enjoyable both to refresh the memories of all fans and school the new. (the last few comments on youtube on the most recent one are still saying things like - is this fake?)

I am blown away by the comments asking if it is fake. It opens with a frame that says 'LonelyGirl15 Episodes 55-62' that should really tell people that it is a show.

Aw, this is so sad. It is Valentine’s Day and I keep getting PMs at YouTube from 13 year old boys asking to be ‘friends’ with LonelyGirl. I feel awful having to break the hearts of all of them. I don’t know how Amanda strung along thousands of people and was able to sleep at night.

You don't have to break their hearts, tell them you're just another FOB, but you'll say hello for them when you see her!

PS This is similar to the the Santa Claus/Great Pumpkin/Easter Bunny dilemma, isn't it?

Yeah, but 13 is too old to believe in Santa. Go on and break those Hearts, Terry. Besides, you never know which of those "13 year old boys" is really a 60 year old man.

Um, I hang out here all the time, but I never post because I rarely have anything worthwhile to say. However, I did want to come out and say thanks to Terryfic for all these recap videos. They are a great reminder of all the good old days.

What a nice post diffinctive, glad you decided to say it! I too like remembering the old days, sigh... Let's hope this series doesn't get any worse as to totally obilterate the fondness of those memories and coolness of the hunt.
