here's the text for those who can't get it: ...On learning that Ms. Rose is an actress whose interests, unlike the scientific and religious issues that fascinated Bree, run to parties and posing, one fan wrote, “Very cute, but she’s really not into Feynmann and Jared Diamond! (I’m heart-broken. ... But a wonderful actress, had me fooled into thinking she was a geek like me.)” www.nytimes.com/2006/09/12/technology/12cnd-lonely.html?_r=1&oref=sloginHey that geek fan is ME Nice article, thanks for quoting me Virginia, I'm saving this (and buying tomorrow's NY Times for keeps). It's true, I am heart-broken, but happy for the actress. OK, enough with the excitement, back to studying Godel's incompleteness theorem for me.

SIGH, I always thought she was fake but was sort of hoping she was real. I am a huge nerd and my parents are super strict and I never leave the house. I was like on the off chance that this is all real that means that besides my siblings and cousins there's another person like me out there!
Dear writers: if you ever need any inside info on what it's like to really be in that situation you're more than free to write me XD
I hope Virginia stops by here tonight--but I guess if they declined to talk about Jess they probably said zilch about Daniel.

LG15 is a tragedy in a way, further proof that pretty girls just aren't interested in dead physicists and Jared Diamond.

I wish ! I saw her pictures and read her cached profile on MySpace, which didn't mention Feynmann or have a photo of him, as Bree's does. Sooo, if that quote's from you that means you met Jessica (sorry I may've read it wrong) ??

I am a premed junior with a sis in med school and let me tell you: those girls do exist!
And I hate them XD
I am glad that the nerdy side of her got such a positive response. Though, I think that was more because she seemed like a total package type, not just because she was smart...haha, I wonder who was involved with setting up her myspace and putting all of that up?

Last month, a lonelygirl15 fan discovered and posted a trademark application by Mr. Goodfried, which seemed to prove that the videos, which presented themselves as nothing but a video diary, were at least in part a commercial venture. Hey, that was me Virginia! (I mean as long as everybody is grabbing for their 15 minutes of fame, I'll take mine!) LOL.

Hi guys! First off, scdgoofy: I'm so sorry not to attribute that Goodfried discovery. Will you send me your info by email--heffernan@nytimes.com--and I'll get it into the blog? Second off, I have a blog entry of, basically, DVD extras for you all coming up. But the Times is being slow about posting it, so I figured I'd put it here first. The entry itself also have some on-set photos of Flinders, Beckett, and Jessica Rose, as well as tons of memoribilia. (I'll let some of it be a surprise.) But here's the odds and ends section. I know you have some of this: + The Google-cached MySpace page of Jessica Rose shows our heroine being very—hm—different from Bree. So she was acting! [http://snipurl.com/wc1d] + The camera used to shoot lonelygirl15 was nothing but a Logitech QuickCam Orbit MP. [http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2204,CONTENTID=10628]. Simple camera, Adobe Premiere to edit. But--as photos on the blog will show--they definitely used fancy lighting. + The swimming hole in the "Swimming!" video is in Angeles National Forest, the San Gabriel River, near Sheep Mountain. + Two of the creators gave up their bedroom for lonelygirl15. They shot video in these rooms by day, and slept in them by night. Mesh Flinders's [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1981836/ ] bedroom was used for Bree's. Miles Beckett's [http://www.shoutboy.com/] was used for Daniel's. + The original moderator of the lonelygirl15.com message board, a ghostly presence who mystified fans as "Bukanator," was Grant Steinfeld, the software engineer who helped get the tech component of "lonelygirl15" off the ground. [link: www.zoominfo.com:80/people/steinfeld_grant_448531156.aspx]+ Over a week ago, a user who signed up for an account at the lonelygirl15.com forum received a confirmation e-mail from "Miles Beckett." A sloppy mistake? + A renegade lonelygirl-spinoff, which has some attenuated ties to the original, is underway; look for cassieiswatching's "This Is My Story Now" on YouTube right now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IcYUifgEfwThanks for all the help. You all deserve an--Oscar? Pulitzer? Prison term? Something good. Anyone interested in the Screens blog should definitely stay in touch. Virginia
