Darn. Just when I had a comfy theory and a storyline all set up so I could go about my business...this movie for Patt Rec gets found! I used to think this was big corp, then just some Troupe of semi talented actors looking for attention, now it's big corp again.
Or, maybe the Troupe read Patt Rec and are using it as their basis.
Grrrr!

But still: public photos = outing them! Please post as many pics as you can in formats that are hi-res and openable by just clicking on them, pleeeaasse.

Given the sudden rise in popularity wouldnt everyone have done the same thing,Particularly if you are a media student,What i mean is wouldnt you grab a little bit more attention than you were ever expecting and THEN see how long you can stretch it out Reasoning : the quickly scripted last video with little special effects and one camera angle, OH and the subject content... If it is true then we could be in for a long entrenchment, didnt mean to use that word but cant think of another ot the mo I wouldnt dwell on our roles too much, needless to say we all chose them 'freely' And as far as I can tell honestly, the question is are the dishonest creators wondering what to do next?or could they be running out of game plan, lets hope not just right now! I have always thought that this would be a long term project. We may if we are lucky have certain theories confirmed or denied throughout the journey but I think people are being optomistic about the october date. No one has even come close to finding a half credible source that gives information of what is involved in this whole thing. As long as no one can find anything os substance I think it will run and run.

I agree. It will go on indefinitely because of the nature of this medium. That is why we need to OUT 'EM with photos.

This blog is becoming unfocused. One reason it was created was to hone our search. We're getting off track. Or, at least off of one track. I see our tracks as:
1). Figure them out before they let/tell us everything (or, force them out). 2). Figure out the plot (which may lead to figuring them out, too).
To figure them out, we need photos. I suggest Alissa creates a forum for publicly accessible phots of actors/acresses we think may be B&D. (Of course, nobody participated in the team forum I suggested...so. But, thanks for making that one, Alissa).
It may help to re-organize the theories page into more destinct, defined theories. By chosing a theory, we can debunk them one by one. But, by keeping all theories open as possibilities, we create an endless chain of possibilities.
Somebody in our group once mentioned that voice recognition analysis had been done between a bree movie sound bite and some actress' voice: Virginia, does your technical colleague have access to voice rec software and photo comparison software? If so, we could take all public photos we place in their own forum, and just let the software run 24/7 on all of them until some similarities come to the surface. Ugh, this sounds like an episode of NUMBER3, or CSI, or, etc.

I promised I was NOT going to write...yet, here I am.

I agree. Sorry you wasted your time and talent.
As I ponder possible methods to OUT 'EM I wonder if:
1. Can you make two new forums, though: a. Photos b. Sightings 2. Then, if Virginia or other media employee can put links directly to the sightings page instead of links to YT or the phoney websites, we could start to get many more people looking for D&B without it being a direct manhunt. This way, there aren't any photos of D&B in the papers (electronic or paper), but, instead there's a link to a bunch of photos people can look at and add new ones. 3. Then, on the Sightings forum, we create a new poll. It would act more like a table, though. Each category would be a continent. If people have sighted B&D they click the continent (vote for it in the poll format). After about a day of this, we add a new poll with categories that are each subsections within continents. Next day new poll with more fine sections, etc. 4. As the sightings increas and hone in, we enter the locations with the most events onto a map like google earth. 5. Eventually, we OUT 'EM.
I know this is like a few pieces of hay in a huge pile of hay trying to find a needle in a haystack. Each piece of hay doesn't even know if they're right next to the needle. Some don't care. Others would know and care if they knew the needle was being sought after. And, even then, the hay next to needle may not have good vision, may be a liar, may not be able to tell other haypieces about it, etc. So that the few pieces of hay looking for needle can't get the info.
Trying to solve this has become fun again!

Honestly, I think the images forum will do just find. Sightings can go into other. Why create a bunch of more forums that no one will use? >.>

Well...this is an ARG in the since that people are playing it...but certainly unlike things that have been done before. Usually, we know who is behind such games, I love bees, being a perfect example.

I have never been involved in an ARG, in fact I didn't know about them until now. It is difficult to believe it is an ARG as I don't really know what the aim of the game is. We have made our aim to find out who is behind it. Maybe that is the whole point of the game. However if I made an ARG, which I won't because I don't have the brain power, skill or time needed to do so, the point of it would not be for the players to discover I was writing it. I dunno, maybe it is maybe it isn't, we won't know for a long time I doubt.
PS: Shont, your avatar is really quite disturbing, I don't like it.

As has been pointed out in comments on the web, in a sense this is the ultimate ARG, in that people playing it (including us) aren't sure whether it's a game or not.

Ok, I'm not really sure where this would go, so I'm gonna put it here before starting a new thread.
If this was an ARG, from what I've read, it seems like there would be some really really smart people working on it. If they generally build whole websites, set up phone numbers, etc, they would seem to be very knowledgable. Or, if it was YouTube, they would also be very knowledgable with technology. Obviously.
Bringing it back to the whole hackers thing that was on the old board, people talked about where the numbers got "stuck" for awhile and things of that nature. I would be willing to believe either of the above scenarios, except for what happened yesterday. If they have such bright people working with them, why would Buka not be able to build a simple website/messageboard? I mean, I guess that it could be a ploy to get someone to ask this question, but it seems like a very tedious set-up, especially with the risk that people are driven away by his lack of knowledge, thus defeating the purpose in at least one of the above scenarios.
Does this make any sense? Any ideas?
