HeyMew/Terryfic, the second 'creators' post on the other forum is a fake, so delete it, you are moderators, to moderate the bullshit on the forum, it shouldn't even be a talking point, if the 'Creators' want to contact us the lame way they did they should have to start a new thread so we know they have admin rights. MODULATORS! MOUNT UP

oh my lord. bizzle - i should have listened to you. just looking at one of those links. this is clearly the work of those who are pissed at LG15 -- a "goatse" kind of spam.
EDIT: So glad I'm not a moderator there. Not that I was asked, but I'm not suprised I wasn't.

EEK Blech. NOW I'm gonna start having nightmares after stupidly (very stupidly) clicking on that. This is getting crazy. It's also another reason I'm glad for this forum.
Now I'm going to get back in bed and pretend I didn't see what I saw. Where's one of those "Eternal Sunshine" Memory Erasers?

I think the people behind this have seriously lost the plot. The only reason I can see them making this announcement now is they thought their new web site would be finished in time to premiere alongside the announcement but it has hit some last minute production snags.
What a major bungle.
As for their wishful thinking that they are ushering in a new era of web entertainment, well, the secret behind the success of Lonelygirl15 has been its secrets. It has drawn attention because no one could figure out what was real and what was contrived and what the purpose of the whole thing was and who was behind it.
Now they are going to launch this new venture and put up videos without any of the mystery and they hope to maintain their audience?
Some people are comparing this to the show Lost and how fans continue to follow that show's convuluted plotline while knowing it is not real. The big difference is Lost was launched as fiction and not semi-fiction or reality like LG15 was. It did not start as a reality show and then sudddenly turn into Sci-Fi.
I can see why most fans of LG15 are annoyed by this revelation. To me the best analogy would be if Elizabeth Smart's parents made an announcement thanking us for all the support we gave the kidnapping plot and hoping we enjoy the upcoming alien invasion/Mayan apocalpyse mini-series they are putting together.

That wasn't terryfic people, that was terryfIc with a capital i, or maybe lower-case l, whatever. With 174 tubgirls to delete, I ain't touching it till the admin blocks his IP. it's clear that person has no life enough to spam that throughly and will have no qualms about doing it again. Perhaps an admin could move the legit threads out of there and delete the whole section, because there ain't no way anyone will individually delete all of that stuff. By the way terryFLC or whatever over there is the same as a couple versions of The__Creators (but don't remember which as there are like 4 now). He has 3 different user names there based on what the ip says.

I have been thinking about people's anger, disappointment etc over the semi-reveal. If I am not mistaken they never claimed it was real did they? They certainly did not try to actively refute doubters, as many hoped they would. Pretty honest, no? I guess buka was mildly untruthful over the fan site, but even he did not try to spin an explanation once the email, .net, .org came out. If this had been on TV, would people have thought it was real? What is the obsession with "fakers,"? Isn't it kind of fake to act indignant about something being fake, when it is clearly fake. Like buying a Gucci bag in Chinatown and acting shocked that it is not real. Are you really saying you did not know? I just don't get it. It seems reasonable to critique the nature or substance of the reveal. It seems a little bizarre to claim they they can't maintain an audience now that they are not real. On the other hand.... A lot of people sure do seem to think it is a bungle... so I guess that reality will be self-fulfilling if enough people tune out. I guess they should have kept faking. --- OT: Swampy, not trying to pick a fight... just trying to figure this out.

Interesting that TMZ claims to have the real story, and yet they seem to misread the LATimes story. The LAT never said a "duo" of filmmakers has come forward. LAT said “team” (as in the creative team.) I think TMZ may have slipped up. Perhaps they are the ones that know the duo? Or maybe they just don't read very carefully.

But if TMZ know who is behind it as they claim, then they probably know it is only two people rather than a whole team. It sounds as if they have a different source to the LA times?

clueso: By posting in the medium they did and by using content that (at first) would have us have no reason to think its fake, they implied its realness (making up words is fun . You can't really blame people for thinking that it might be real as so far, this has not occured on youtube without it being overly obvious. Of course if it was on TV we would have much more skepticism, we are used to seemingly real fake shows on TV, not youtube.

Perhaps they thought the "duo" were the actors playing Bree and Daniel. Who knows, it could be just the two of them...
