Why hello there everyone! We have a NEW chatroom. This chatroom will require you to have an IRC Client to connect. They are usually very easy to use. I use www.mirc.comhere is an mIRC tutorial: www.ircbeginner.com/ircinfo/mirc.htmlFor mac users: www.snak.com/When you get the client, connect to this server: irc.austnet.org Then type /j #AnchorCove If you have any questions please post them here I will be glad to help. I SUGGEST EVERYONE REGISTER THEIR NICKNAMES SO THAT NO ONE CAN TAKE YOURS. To do this, when you get into the chat, type in /msg chanop register password email password = a password you want email = an email address <3 My TEMPtress has made a backup chat just in case this one ever goes down again like it did on 9/7. Here is what she said:

Austnet is having a lot of trouble lately, and we still haven't gotten organized enough to make everyone agree to switch to freenode.
try au.austnet.org, and comcen.nsw.au.austnet.org .. keep trying until you actually get in, in fact. watch your IC program carefully, because a lot of time comcen likes to dump people into a New Jersey server which doesn't interact with the Australian ones.
It's very frustrating at times!

If you just switch from "Random Austnet Server" to "Random AU Server" under your IRC settings, if you use IRC, then, it should work no problem.

I've been an IRC user for years now and I've tried all the tricks I know.. All the servers and all the ports.. Webchat's.. Different config options.. Nothing. It's getting challenging but I will figur it out. Thanks for the help.

Austnet seems to be seriously broken tonight. I have been trying to connect to every au server for hours and they all time out. So I am hanging out in New Jersey if anyone wants to keep me company.

Okay, tonight and probably indefinitely, we're hanging out at freenode.
channel isn't registered yet, but I'm trying to accomplish that tomorrow
For the time being, come on in to see us at:
niven.freenode.net channel is ##anchorcove
yes, that is TWO pound signs for now -- will update when we go back down to our traditional ONE pound sign
hope to see ya'll there!
I swear you don't have to try for an hour or so with freenode: one little click and you're there.
