interesting -- the story doesn't address how YouTube itself will be approaching how it selects content for the channel or how it would compensate its creators.

I forsee tightly regulated ratings for videos coming up in the near future if this deal happens. I also forsee people taking content off youtube and moving it to pay per view sites like livevideo and revver.

Revver inks deal with Verizon WirelessOn the heels of YouTube's deal with Verizon Wireless, online video site Revver is planning to announce today that it, too, is teaming up with the wireless carrier to offer user-generated clips on cell phones. Verizon's V Cast premium service, which cost $15 a month or $3 a day, will offer a Revver channel, which will include five sub-channels: Editor's Picks, Viral Video Classics, Laughs, Animation and Cute Overdose.
