I think it was sunscreen, I don't even want to imagine what else it could be.
This is getting so cartoonish, I am wondering if they are aiming at a new target audience, toddlers through ten year olds.

First video I've seen in a while. I am NOT encouraged to go back and see the others. It was idiotic beyond comprehension. What am I supposed to do now, watch Smosh?

I thought this episode was a bit of a mixed bag. It was a little amusing at parts, but a lot of it was too over the top. It had the potential to be really funny, but Spencer was just too ridiculous and it came off as juvenile. The concept of Spencer training Jonas as if he were in an action movie is a good one, I just think the execution was a little off.

To greatly simplify things there are two basic ways to present comedy. You can either have a character that is aware that he is being funny or one that isn’t. As I understand the archetype of Spencer he is suppose to fall into the second. As a quick example of what I am talking about consider The Office - Jim Halpert is aware that he is funny and tells jokes; where as the comedy from Dwight Schrute is unintentional. Obviously not all the comedy in LG is suppose to be unintentional. Recently, Sarah and Jonas have been falling into the former category with one liners and jokes. The problem with Spencer is that his actions are so ridiculous that the illusion that he doesn’t know they are funny is destroy and the comedy fails to deliver. Likewise this kind of comedy is usually done in a funny man straight man style, in this case Jonas was suppose to be the straight man, but that just isn’t a role that he fits into very well. I always thought Bree was able to play a good straight (wo)man, like when she is tossing a drunken Jonas and Daniel into the trunk in Mexico or in Proving Science Wrong... with Lonelybeast and Danielgirl15. Anyways, I used it as an example in my post the other day and now I’m gonna point it out again just incase one of the writers happens to be lurking. I preset – the Bottle Rocket trailer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_twg7Jj_mqQCompare Dignan’s (Owen Wilson) excitement and innocence to how Spencer behaved in this video.

Well first of all, they used the kangaroo in vain. Bastards. Second of all, I can't remember looking at the time metre so much in an LG vid. It really dragged on. It wasn't executed properly at all. They really missed the mark. Thirdly, that knife bit was a huge let down. I was waiting for the blood bath! *sigh*

You know those friends who think they're funny and tell really dumb jokes... and then keep going. You know that sick feeling inside where it goes from, "oh that missed the mark" to down right stomache turning sick.
I felt like that, like I just felt sorry for the guy it was that bad. I couldn't even laugh AT him, let alone laugh with him.

This is the first Spencer one that I have seen (and hopefully the last). What in the hell does this have to do with Lonelygirl15? And Spencer dude- that's annoying (everything about you - why oh why all the new characters). That was supposed to be zinc on his nose (what surfers used to wear to prevent sunburn).
Terry - are you still in love with LG all over again?

I just realized, spencer is a scientist. That means he's a formula character. The overly nerdy uncle Joey with even less laughs. Don't worry, the prescription is going to be something bad happening which will result in spencer disposing of the geeky hat and becoming 'cool'.
