He's a much more likable character like this. I think the throwing things in a bag was a good metaphor for those absurd training vids, throw them away and never look back. Not quite sure about relating Bree to the Theory of Relativity though, that was kinda sketchy....
I almost empathized with him (and his wondrous skin, courtesy of our fine sponsors) in this one. Almost.

Is E=MC2 an unsolvable formula? Because I think it's quite the opposite.

I think Mesh is telling us that he could not solve the problems with the plot and the career aspirations of JR, Hye. Some things can't be fixed that quickly or easily. Life is hard.

Is E=MC2 an unsolvable formula? Because I think it's quite the opposite. I'm sure they used it because it is such a part of pop culture, if they had used a real unsolvable formula like P=NP then no one would have understand what he was talking about.

wait aminute...why are we mad at Taylor? oh and BTW I guess we should all keep in mind that we never saw Bree get buried did we? and another thing...CG you can not possibly be that forgiving...you kill me. I told Gemma (she likes me ya know ) that if she was stayin' I would stay...so I guess you will have to deal with me for a little while longer. oh yeah..I was wondering if I could get a "solid" from someone...my absolute favorite classic was the one where Daniel got on his Bicycle to go to Bree's house..anyone know the name of that one so I can add it to the "Classics Thread"..I am a sentimental old "f" you know

I thought the same thing as Hye - E=MC2 is the opposite of unsolvable. But I guess I took it to mean that this was the one formula that Einstein worked on all his life - the thing that made him. It was still a stretch, but I think it just meant that this was supposed Spencer's big formula to solve. Also, I don't get why they're mad at Taylor either. I know she said some bitchy things after Bree died, but so did Sarah... so yeah, I'm not really getting that part... unless it was like a - well we expect that kind of behaviour from Sarah but not from Taylor - kind of thing.

Yea, the equation in not unsolvable you just plug in the values and you get a result. The only question would be whether it can be proved to be an accurate representation of nature, I think the nuclear bomb did a good job of doing that. Einstein didn't work on this all his life it was published in a paper in Sep 1905 early in his career relatively speaking, it is what he is most known for in popular culture, the Theory Of Relativity is what he is most noted for in the scientific world, of which E=MC2 was a part. Most of his greatest work was done early in his life, while he was still working in a patent office. What he worked on for most of his latter life was the quest for a Unified Field Theory, a unification of the fundamental forces, something he was ultimately unsuccessful at.

And IMO the Unified Field Theory was what he was really referring to, but no one on the phorums would have known what he meant. ETA: I thought Max was very good in this. I like a quieter Spencer.

Although Einstein published in 1905 I don't think there was a solid mathematical proof for like 20 years, he just figure this is the way it's got to be. Einstein is made of awesome.
No matter how many times it is explained to me, I don't think I will ever understand intuitively why you square the speed of light, or even what that means.

wait aminute...why are we mad at Taylor? WE aren't, but the phorumites are. oh and BTW I guess we should all keep in mind that we never saw Bree get buried did we? I listened to F.O.B. Life last night, and Jessica was the guest. She was very coy about whether Bree was really dead or not. I'm downloading the podcast on iTunes right now, I'll see if I can track down what she said. Unless it was on chat, in which case it's gone forever

That's an interesting interpretation, whether it was meant in jest or not. Even if it's being overly analytical, I love deconstructing literature for the deeper meanings and see this as an example if indeed Mesh was trying to say something more. If it was anyone else I'd say there's no way this was implied, but since it's Mesh there could have been a slightly deeper meaning. And yeah, the E=MC2 thing was of course because it's well known, not for being unsolvable. Only here would we actually deconsruct it over multiple posts, everywhere else they would have taken it at face value without realizing the problem.

I don't understand why we're mad at taylor either, and I did like Spencer in this video. I also liked a comment on the lonelygirl15.com website about Bree injecting herself with some blood borne disease and killing elders that way. I'm sure this has been discussed but it was the first time i saw it because i haven't been keeping up lately. I thought that was a cool theory.

And IMO the Unified Field Theory was what he was really referring to, but no one on the phorums would have known what he meant. I am loathe to belabor the point, but there are actually one or two phorumites who might have an understanding of the concept behind Unified Field Theory; at least one has included Einstein's Relativity in his fan contributions. I like Spencer. I still miss gogo.

Yes, there are several very bright phorumites who might be able to tread on this path. They are not the ones who hang out in the C and C section like I do, blathering on with my usual rants. Once in a while I read something there that restores my faith in the American educational system, although they probably are Canadian . Deconstructing this stuff is always very dicey Hye, but the meta WAS such a huge factor of the notPlot the last season. I think several times we have seen glaring examples of this, intentionally and non-intentionally, from the writer(s). I liked THIS version of Spencer also Apo, I think the actor may have had more talent than I gave him credit for. I knew many young scientists and they were much more like this than the cliched nerd or absurd clown that he was portrayed as in the earlier vids. As for gogo, that one is indeed sorely missed. Aye, I am forgiving Slainte. I would think all of us here are or we would have given up after that first notCeremony. Obla Di, Obla Da...
