I just got a new phone (Cingular) and have an unlimited media package for an additonal 20 bucks a month. The 3G allows for streaming video, and Cingular shows short IMS type clips from iFilm, amongst many other channels from cartoons to American Idol rejects. The content is updated regularly and I love the hour on the hour CNN short clips. This is all news to me. I am totally in love with my new phone. There are also "premium channels" that have additional subscription fees like HBO. And then there is mobiTV, offering a real live streaming video to a number of real channels out there - Discovery channel, MSNBC, TLC, etc for an additional 9.99 a month. I don't have any extra preminum content or mobiTV yet - I am happy with what Cingular video provides.
If only the youtube vids were available on it. I wonder how long iFILM has had this contract? I wonder when the deal with the phone companies and youtube will happen? Will it be a premium service or free like the iFILM is?
