youtube.com/watch?v=TdjXJD4M8YQSummaryIf you missed the first season or just want to take a walk down memory lane, check out this lonelygirl15 season 1 recap video. If you like what you see, make sure to go to www.lg15.com on Friday, August 3rd, 2007 at 8:00 AM PST. We will be uploading one video each hour, for twelve hours. Oh yeah, season 2 starts Monday. (more) (less) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This had more of the feeling of a trailer than a recap. The scenes were edited together out of sequence, the narration glossed over all the loose ends, contradictions, inconsistencies, repetitions and plot holes, and at the end they plugged Kate Modern. And not a mention of OpAphid, I wonder why.

Yeah, this was more a recap of the last 4 months and retconing the 8 prior months to match it. The show is no where near as cohesive as this made it out to be, nor is it really in the style of how the trailer presented it to be. It felt very much like a trailer made by different people then those that actually make the show. I wouldn't be surprised if this video was designed first to be shown to potential advertisers and secondly to help new fans catch up.

<snideMonkeySnark> It made the damm thing appear to be a LOT better than it really has been... </snideMonkeySnark>
From a commercial perspective, it was pretty well done though. I thought Joan's delivery of the narration was very good in particular. Obviously the "mission" of this vid was to try and hook new viewers, I think it serves that mission fairly well. Now, as to if it will work...
Finally, I would be remiss if I was not to point out that they should have had OUR recap auteur edit this one. He would have done a MUCH better job of it...

Well, I don't think I could have done it anywhere near as quickly. I hate voice over exposition like this, but it would be need to condense things. Plus I would never have agreed to make it so commerical

how funny is it that the words "lowest moment" are heard right as she shakes some ice breakers into her hand?

It felt very much like a trailer made by different people then those that actually make the show. Wild Monkey Conjecture: Hmmm. I wonder if they brought in hired guns to do this recap? It seemed a lot more "professional" (positive and negative attributes associated with this term) than what we have seen so far. Very slickly edited and produced.

I wouldn't be surprised if this video was designed first to be shown to potential advertisers... That would make senxe, the empathise on the number of views, over 60 million I think they said, the inclusion of the Ice Breakers shot, the Neutrogena logo and the end where the list other potential cities where a future spin-off (franchise?) might take place. It's as if they were trying to sell the concept (interactive stroy telling + product placement) as well as promote the series.

Thank God you all are here. I was reading in the phorum about it, and it was all roses. I was squirming in my seat about how they put a marketing video out there in game. It's like tuning in for your favorite show and seeing an advertisement for it instead.

YT doesn't place ads on the main LG15 pages like they do with other users. Not anymore.

<snideMonkeySnark> It made the damm thing appear to be a LOT better than it really has been... </snideMonkeySnark> Good call, monkey boy!! Geez, I wish the real show was anywhere even close to how that made it look. I also wish I could've just skipped the last few months and had that neat, shiny, pretty little package to watch instead.

how funny is it that the words "lowest moment" are heard right as she shakes some ice breakers into her hand? I noticed that too! Mistake or tongue in cheek? I'm thinking poor planning with the editing...aka: mistake. It was very noticeable too <snideMonkeySnark> It made the damm thing appear to be a LOT better than it really has been... </snideMonkeySnark> Good call, monkey boy!! Geez, I wish the real show was anywhere even close to how that made it look. I also wish I could've just skipped the last few months and had that neat, shiny, pretty little package to watch instead. I was also thinking this. If only it had have been more succinct like this, if only the things they exaggerated in it weren't exaggerated. If only the fact that it was really based around Bree and featured more of the old, good clips than the new, meant something good. *sigh* "If only" seem to be the only words. It did feel more like a trailer than a re-cap. As a trailer, I think it was well done, except for the mixing of LG-world and real world such as the KM ad, and Jonas not really being Jonas. However they did a good job of making LG look like a decent show. IF ONLY that was true.

OK, i saw some of the comments on this thread yesterday and did not expect much from this vid. So, before I read the rest: I really kinda liked it! It really made this whole mess seem exciting again. It did feel like a movie trailer, but I was also able to sit thru its 7+min length without getting bored at all. Some extra notes:- The Homeless Watcher appears at 4:40! Go team Homeless Watcher - Apo gets a shoutout! - Neutrogena is not one of the world's largest companies. It's really just a division of Johnson&Johnson. I am sure you were all upset at that error of fact. Now I shall read the rest of the posts in this thread. ETA:Thank God you all are here. I was reading in the phorum about it, and it was all roses. I was squirming in my seat about how they put a marketing video out there in game. It's like tuning in for your favorite show and seeing an advertisement for it instead. I have to imagine the phorum is slobbering over it. I didnt think it was in-game though; yes, jonas did the voiceover but there is no way they can justify daniel and jonas putting this together. That would make senxe, the empathise on the number of views, over 60 million I think they said, the inclusion of the Ice Breakers shot, the Neutrogena logo and the end where the list other potential cities where a future spin-off (franchise?) might take place. YT doesn't place ads on the main LG15 pages like they do with other users. Not anymore. i can imagine there they have made clips to get advertisers, and that they may have used some of it for this recap. but as apo noted, showing the placements here is to help get more advertising going forward, i think. and apo, what do you mean they aren't placing ads on the main lg15 pages? like on the lonelygirl15 channel? that's odd. renetto made a video maybe last month that noted that ad-producing banners are only appear on partner's videos because youtube is fearful of profiting off videos that may have copyright problems. --- this recap is very bree-focused. still doesn't mean they won't kill her, but it really doesn't reflect how absent bree has been over the past few months.

Me too, milo. But then, I'm just a simple (i.e. dumb) country girl from Oklahoma. What's your excuse? I even embedded it on my Myspace blog. But that doesn't mean I'm becoming a member of the LG15 Street Team. I mean, good God. Country singers have fan club "street teams" like this. If I won't do it for Loretta Lynn, I won't do it for the C's. Loretta has gotten me through a lot more hard times than Bree has, no contest.

and Jonas not really being Jonas. Yeah that was really weird. Did anyone else notice that celtic cross that flashed on the screen for a second? Bastards.

Geprge: " It made the damm thing appear to be a LOT better than it really has been . . ."
Memo to Monkey: Isn't that the POINT?
