This is a picture of Neal Fredericks' two siblings: stargirl.netfirms.com/picturepro/nfpicturepro/displayimage.php?album=4&pos=11Neither of them appears to bree. If they're involved, I don't know how/why. "Stargirl" is a fairly common handle, though (for instance, I found it on about 5,223,520 million forums). Aren't we sure that the lg15 press conference was NOT the work of Flemming? Or could it be that blackjack and Flemming are friends? (Blackjack, btw, never posted in the old forum, and posts a lot in this one; just like game theory; however, blackjack does teach in Nebraska.) -John www.sparksflyup.com

For the record, re. stargirl: I highly doubt there's a connection, although there are some character and story arc similarities. (There are character and story arc similarities, however, to about ten thousand books for teens; my editor, Julie, calls lg15 "the perfect teen novel," although admittedly she said that before Cassie's muffled yearnings came out.) The "stargirl" reference in the video is a little compelling, but, I mean, it's not like Bree has a pet rat or anything (which is one of the big plot points of STARGIRL). However, the Flemming thing looks more and more likely to me. I'm unconvinced he started it, but he seems involved in some way, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's trying to turn something that wasn't always a game into a game. EDIT: As far as I know, the STARGIRL movie is languishing in development. This could not be a promo for that. -John www.sparksflyup.com

Looks like three boys to me, the one on the right a teenager. But nothing that would allow us to identify anyone, I don't think. Thanks for the screenshot, milowent!

An interesting observation, and a funny joke if that's the truth. It is odd that she'd have the bear there. Can we get a better screenshot of that picture next to the candles now with Revver? It seems like that picture might be clearer now, although it's a long shot that it will help with anything.

"Everyone suspects himself of at least one of the cardinal virtues, and this is mine: I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known" Of course, that's not Gatsby talking, but Nick. Still, though, we trust ya. -John www.sparksflyup.com

I'm John Green. I write novels (which are marketed to teens and college kids and tend to star teenagers, which is probably why i came to be interested in lg15), nonfiction trivia books (for a company called mental floss), and sometimes commentaries for NPR's All Things Considered. I am not a plant: www.sparksflyup.comwww.myspace.com/greatperhapsI'm very interested in playing the game, if it is a game, and in lg15-as-a-story. But mostly, like everyone else, I want to find out who's behind it, and who the actors are, and what if anything is going to happen on 10/12/06, and who Goodfried is working for, and on and on. Glad to be here and thanks for setting this up, Alissa. -John

Well that answers my question about agents.
Who did the tracking, btw?

I found it. It's on ABC News' Webcast from a couple days ago with Charlie Gibson. I don't know how to link directly to it, but: abcnews.go.com/WNT/WebCast/If you go there, and then to September 4th, click on "Is Youtube Phenom The Real Deal?" -John www.sparksflyup.com
