I'm concerned about the fate of the young woman who plays Bree. We all know her identity will be revealed in the weeks or months ahead and that playing YouTube's "lonelygirl15" is not the apex of her career.
If she's an aspiring actress who's now being scouted by the big boys will she be able to project a persona other than the one that made her famous? If she does get cast in a bigger project will the millions of people who already know her accept her as someone else?
I really like the actress more than I could ever like her character Bree, and I want her to succeed on a much more ambitious level. I know her acting range is confined in Bree and that the right part could put her on the bigger showbiz map in a heartbeat.
Does anyone else agree that this actress deserves a shot at the big time? I know I'll be watching with great interest if she ever does parlay her YouTube popularity into a significant opportunity.

All acters have casting problems, acters tend to get classes, action heros, goodies, badies. That is just the way that it works. It is defficult to expect that she will play an evil character who is trying to destoy the world. I am not sure how you can say her acting 'confined' you can only judge that after she has completed a number of works. In these video's we are only seeing one side of her acting talent.

Interesting... I think we're all wrapped up in the phenomenon, the medium, the mystery and have somehow agrandized Jessica the actress. If this were a UPN sitcom, it'd last 2 weeks and the acting would get lambasted. We feel like Bree is one of our own and that the plot/mystery is partly our own creation, so we watch it the way you might listen to your own band. Faults are ignored. She's getting a free pass. I guess that's what Internet 2.0 is supposed to be about. I'm concerned about the fate of the young woman who plays Bree. I'm with mettle on this one. But ... just but, this could also be breaking ground for a new kind of storytelling. I mean it's not so much the original content (i.e. the snippets of footage), it's the whole experience and content that got created around it, partly by us as well, that makes this so damn addictive. Is Jessica a good actress? I dunno, but give the kid a break! she's just starting out, after all. And honestly, I would much rather see more of the Bree stuff than see her cast in some big budget dumb-ass Hollywood teen comedy. Then again ... 'Legally Occult' might create a whole new genre ... romantic horror comedy anyone? Lemme pitch: It's like Clueless meets the Excorcist! ;D I think mettle is right, this feel like watching the home team, and it's kinda nice. This could go many ways. I hope she plays her cards smartly and doesn't get gobbled up in a quick run of the talk-shows, followed by straight-to-video crap. Bide your time Jessica, would be my advice. Oh yeah, and get a good agent

Personally I think she's more of a skilled performer than anyone's giving her credit for. Her comic timing is perfect and her expressions are priceless. She's obviously no Meryl Streep, not even a poor man's Reese Witherspoon, but nonetheless her appeal is unmistakable.
I might just make myself a charter member of the JLR fan club!

That is so very true on many levels. Who deserves the credit for LG15's success? I strongly believe that most of the success of the production should be granted to Jessica. Without her I strongly doubt this whole production would rise to the fame it has. Whether you believe the project was ethical or not, one thing is for sure lg15 is a phenom and one huge reason is Jessica.
I'll be intrigued to see if she can transfer her appeal to more mainstream entertainment.

I think that finding these photos is actually the best thing for her, they show that she's a real person. There were so many hateful things being said after "The Creators" post but I can't believe anyone could hate her after seeing her "real" photos. She seems like a nice girl, and I think she'll be "forgiven."
If we had discovered a regular Hollywood glamour shot, I think people would have decided she was "fake" and stayed angry with her forever.
As for her range as an actress... I don't think it's fair to judge her abilities from these videos. But I'll say one thing, she uses scientific jargon better than a lot of actors on TV crime shows.
My dream role for Jessica? I'd like to see her cast as a brilliant young student on Numb3rs... maybe a prodigy that started college as a preteen.

Weeds/OC I don't know I live in London, England. Let's put her on Benny Hill if you ask me but lets find something. (numbers Bree loves numbers) Bree Rules! PS: It's 1:30AM and I'm on my second bottle of wine.) I think that finding these photos is actually the best thing for her, they show that she's a real person. Jessica is a wonderful special girl that has a dream like many of us do. Give her credit for putting herself out there and chasing her dream. She is an angel and one of the most loving, caring people that you would ever meet. She works hard and loves her chosen career..it would be great if everyone would get behind her..she is my sweetheart and I admire and love her for chasing her dream..
Her Dad

Since this whole LG15 series was done on a shoestring Jessica probably didn't earn that much money off it even though it left her with a high profile. Certainly not enough to keep her protected from paparazzi, stalkers and obsessed and/or disgruntled fans who now know exactly where to look for her.
Would it surprise anyone if she went back to NZ for a while to cool off? That might be among her best choices if any serious encroachments on her personal life ensue. It's not like she can repair to a gated community with 24/7 security like so many celebs have done.

I too agree that we haven't seen enough of her to know how good of an actress she is. Even if one had to look at this and judge her talents, you also have to look at the performance through a different lense. A good number of us looked at Bree under such an intense microscope all because we were constantly asking ourselves real or fake, how real, how fake, fake by who, etc. Besides that, "Bree" is a rather simple character to play, and only showcases Jessica's comfort in front of a camera, ability to carry an entire show, and comedic/dramatic timing (although the editing helps with that some).
As for her success and wide betrayal on YouTube positively or negatively affecting her work in bigger projects...I don't think it'll hurt her, depending on how SHE responds. For instance, exec'll want to cast her in things to get her YouTube fan base to watch whatever show or movie; those execs' understanding of those demographics will determine what type of movie/show, hence her ability to stretch as a performer. If she takes on The OC: The Movie, she might be on her way to letting herself be typecast really quickly, however people outside of her YT fan base will only notice her if she does really well (like any other actor, as if LG15 never existed).
ps - I'm not forming my argument very well, hehe.
