OK, I think most here love music. So far so good... I would like to use this thread for us to share music that would be good in a vid. This is more about sharing some music we dig with friends than LG, but it you can make even a tenuous connection so much the better! I will start with: Title and Registration - From Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie. Kind of like early Smiths or REM. (Damm I miss THOSE eighties...) A good riff for those rainy and snowy days on the road whilst chasing Cowboys. ZOMG the "note" from her parents is in the glove box! To download or listen: www.deathcabforcutie.com/Click on Media > First MP3 in the list. Enjoy. Milo, you're up!

Thanks Hye. I think one one of the major reasons the early vids were so good was that the c's matched up the music so well with the vlog. I guess the licensing issues kinda killed their ability to use some really neat new music. Such is the leap from homemade vlog to commerce I guess. It's too bad the music licensing/purchasing thing they talked about never materialized. Perhaps the new Bukanator is working on that...

Right On! RSpektor has a neat site and some pretty good non-music videos: Regina SpektorAnd don't forget Fidelity! It's one of those "I Can't Get It Out of My Head" (ICGIOOMH) songs, right in line with other slightly crazy person LG15 songs: Crazy by Gnarls Barkley from Dorkiness Prevails (<edit>This link has a great version from the Letterman Show, the outfits alone are worth checking out!) Brilliant Daze by Lisa Debenedictis and Pat Chilla from My Parents Let Us Go Hiking And thanks for the heads up on DC for C, CG! New favorite quote my avatar coming soon!

Perhaps we should pm Regina's userpage and ask if the LG people could use one of her songs in a video? I say because because I fully don't expect even if we messaged Miles that he'd get around to doing it.
(Fidelity seems to be her most popular song so I refrained from listing it, but it certainly came to mind, and of course it would fit in well with an Old Bree video.)

I have recently fallen in love with Girl Talk. I think my recent dive into the world of video remixing has gotten me to a place where I only want to listen to remixed music. I linked to a single song, but the music doesn’t really work piecemeal, if you get the chance I recommend listening to the entire album. This of course wouldn’t really work for a LG vid. Although the schizophrenic sound might be appropriate for the series . For LG I will go with something with more of an indie pop sound, like – Camera Obscura or The New Pornographers for a bit of Canadian flavor. And it is hard to go wrong with Belle & Sebastian I’ve never understood how they aren’t ridiculously huge. Maybe if you need something a little more somber you could go with Bonnie ‘Prince’ BillyI’ve been digging around ccmixer for free music for my recap videos and it looks like the creators really only scratched the surface of quality stuff around there. I believe these days they get paid or setup so other deal with artists to include their music. Oh and funnily enough CG Death Cab for Cutie is or use to be listed as one of Bree's favourite bands

Yeah, I could see Death Cab showing up (they actually played "live" on an episode of the O.C. once) Hmmm. I think "The Worst Taste in Music" by the Radio Department (2006) would be perfect to have an excerpt appearing in a mopey Bree episode. Its got some of that 80s-movie soundtrack song in it already. Discovered while hacking Jay's MySpace : " Paducah Sunrise" by Minus the Bear. I know where I've heard this, the intro and end sound just like the "Sam has 7 Friends" intro. Meanwhile back at this thread...another great Canadian band (I should say another great Canadian Notband, since they've split up) is Moxy Fruvous. Smart, clever, great lyrics and catchy melodies. For Brother(s) Green: My Baby Loves a Bunch of AuthorsFor Joss: King of SpainFor All Those: Stuck in the Ninties (a ukelele tribute by John Rockwell) For DanielBeast: Fell In Love (The video is great, very Cassie/MissKelly/GoGo-esque) For Peace: The Gulf War Song (written for Gulf War I, video is provocative and up-to-date, I like to listen with my eyes closed and a personal slide show dancing in my head) FLWright

Anything by the Nine Inch Nails because I HAVE VIP TO SEE THEM IN 14 HOURS!!!! Edited to add: The Children of Dune soundtrack. Yes I am a wanton whore fan of the books and films but the soundtrack captures mystery, sorrow and loss of innocence. What LG15 coulda shoulda woulda been. This link is a montage of the tracks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvS9cRdI1cM (I actually spent all last night sleeping to this soundtrack on my giant headphones) Oh oh oh! For the action vlogs then Leave by REM, on a Life Less Ordinary. One hapless man on the run with a chick he loves. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOW1QwWREfwFor the Bree I miss, Precious by Depeche Mode. The lyrics seem very right for that character. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCS4e_NgGew
