When you said you were not trying to be rude, reread your last post.
I imagine you have no issue with advertisements during films then, as surely you do not linger in the 'magical world' whatever the f*ck that is. You asked for an answer and as someone who dislikes ads I stated an opinion.
Unlike some people in this modern age I find no appeal in being force fed products I neither need or desire. While others lap them up.

Uhhhhhh... I totally meant that light-heartedly... sorry
Moving on...
Advertisements in the middle of films would bug me, but not at the beginning or the end. And of course, it's different with film: I'm paying money to see it.
With TV or Internet video, they're giving me something for free, the expectation that they do this without compensation seems irrational.
And I don't understand this sentiment either. Nobody is force-feeding me anything. I'm not going to watch "Hairspray" because it's obviously not something that's interesting to me and the advertising helped me reach that conclusion.
Maybe because I spend relatively little time watching TV I don't feel like I'm constantly exposed to advertising?
And even if you do feel this way, the other options are 1) no internet video or 2) a subscription-fee based YouTube and both of those are so clearly worse.

Eh, sorry Jay. Been a shite few weeks in all ways *hug hump*
I do not watch tv but I do feel the internet is overrun with advertisements. I appreciate that these people must make revenue but the fact of the matter is I do not enjoy the way they integrate them. I much prefer choosing from things which interest me, for example I really really like the mini video advertisements on websites now where you can rollover to expand and put the volume on. If you can see movement but not hear anything it is sneakily compelling as you wish to watch it, yet it is small enough not to be intrusive in what you have *chosen* to view. I would go for something interesting like that much more than a clip inserted before a series.
Re: Your coining of a magical world. This brings up an example on my views. I operate a rp website and in order to get them fully entrenched and enjoying the alternative worlds more I themed it all to look as authentic as possible and my *prime* decision to pay for a host was to remove advertisements which spoiled the world. We can clearly see how an outside influence can remove from the proposed story by how the issues in Lg15 of who sees what made it very difficult to set aside preconceived notions of what was real and what was not. It would be like getting involved in a computer game world to suddenly have an advertisement flash for online poker imo.

When I said I didn't care for the 2 ads for the same thing, I should've clarified. I didn't think it was entirely necessary to have a 15 second ad after the video. I had already seen the one where it said "Hairspray" was sponsoring the series. And my thoughts were, "alright, that's pretty cool." But afterwards I felt a little alienated with the second, prolonged ad just because it seemed like it was more about pushing the movie than the actual episode I was watching. I should think a 4 second ad at the beginning with a "Prom Queen is sponsored by..." with a website to go for trailers and info would suffice quite nicely. Anything more than about 5 seconds, before or after the episode, is total overkill in my honest opinion. -shrugs- I actually prefer in-film advertising. Not quite as obvious as they were in the LG15 episode with the gum, but more like that than an overt ad. But, for example, the judges on American Idol and their coca cola cups. Just my preference.

Imparfaite says
But we all know Paula is nabbing the money and up to something else entirely.
"It looks like coca cola, but is it? Lay back and quench your thirst with the smooth refreshing taste of Skyy Vodka. All the chilled induced bliss and none of the carbs. So relax and glug the Mariah Carey wannabe's away. No one will ever know.
Disclaimer: Large quantities may or may not disrupt saline implants. Monitor your own chest carefully as Skyy Vodka Inc will not be help responsible for any 'droop'. "

Ahaha. I love it Tempe. Saddest part? There's a 99.9998% chance that it's true. Of course, she might be going with a different brand of vodka. Or maybe it's whiskey. Never know. eta: wow.... we got off topic... XD Alissa may well smite me. lol

So, Prom Queen is only on GooTube? No iTunes downloads like SH7F? It's on YouTube and Veoh and MySpace and StarStyles but, sadly, for you mobile lovers, it's exclusive mobile carrier is Verizon's VCAST. I'm sort of surprised that nobody has created a good YouTube to iTunes converter. I know nothing about any of the applications involved, but it sure seems like it should be relatively simple, no? Or is there already one out there, and I'm oblivious because of the iPodlessness of my existence.

Is this what you were looking for, Jay? YouTube to iPod converter I haven't used it myself though. Or did you mean iTunes specifically, and not actually just iPod? For iTunes, anything that converts from flv to a supported format should do the trick. Granted, that's a lot of work for the convenience of watching the episodes on iTunes. First rip the video off the PooTube, then convert it. Was SH7F a podcast, did it download automatically? That would have been sweet.

I Was SH7F a podcast, did it download automatically? That would have been sweet. Yes it did and yes it was. I have beat the tom-tom about this feature several times. Having content automatically delivered to the end-user seems like such no-brainer. I guess all the different delivery mechanisms have their benefits, although I could never see myself watching videos on a phone... But then again, maybe that's just because I never have ...

I loved having the SH7F on iTunes - I could download them and then watch a bunch on the plane. Dang.
