via lg15today blog, an article with a slight bit more info on katemodern avilesnews.blogspot.com/2007/05/bebo-and-lonelygirl15-creators-launch.htmlexcerpt:"In the British version, Kate Modern will be a 19-year-old art student living in central London and the story will be set around the hip Carnaby Street. The series will initially start on Bebo at the beginning of July before moving to YouTube and other networking sites. Miles Beckett who helped create Lonelygirl15 said the original creation had worked because of the storyline. "It combined the best elements of traditional story telling along with the technological innovations of the Web," he told Reuters. "So we had great characters, a great plot and then we added all the social networking features ... with people being able to message the characters, interact with them and really take part in the story." [miles is always quick with the quotes, isn't he?]The team said they did not think it would be an issue that "Kate Modern" was not a real person as "people watch television everyday."

Oh please, Miles.... "The original creation had worked because of the storyline?" No, it worked because us poor souls held out on the hope that we were eventually going to see what was promised to us ("great characters", "a great plot" and proper, well organised "social networking features"... *sigh*). Well at least Kate is an art student after all.

Carnaby street isn't really as 'hip' as it once was now :/
I really hope this series isn't going to be as dreadful as I'm anticipating.

Thanks for posting this story. I added a blurb on LG15 Today referencing the original link to the Reuters story that was picked up by the RSS feed: www.ciol.com/content/search/showarticle1.asp?artid=97805The avilesnews site version does not appear to give proper credit to the source authors.
