Hello everyone!
First, an apology for the long silence! We really appreciate our fans, and keeping silent about our new project (as well as the future of "Sam Has 7 Friends") has been PAINFULLY difficult. We have been reading your comments and questions, and are relieved that we can finally speak openly.
As has been discussed on this board, we have signed a deal with Michael Eisner to produce a new series, "Prom Queen." We're extremely excited about the new series, which will be done in the same format as "Sam" - 90-second daily episodes. "Prom Queen" will run SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, starting April 2 and ending June 16.
Now, on to Season 2 of "Sam." We have been FLOORED by the overwhelming number of messages asking about Season 2, and believe us, we want to produce it as badly as you all want to see it! In addition to producing "Prom Queen," Mr. Eisner has acquired the rights to "Sam" Season 1, and holds the option to produce Season 2. We revealed some of the details of the story to him, and he was very excited! He is extremely passionate about storytelling in this new format - daily, 90-second episodes - and working with him continues to be an incredible experience. However, shows like "Sam Has 7 Friends" and "Prom Queen" cost a fair amount to produce, so the future of "Sam" is really dependent upon the success of "Prom Queen." Nothing quite like this has been done before - daily, scripted, serialized drama created specifically for the internet, with advertising sponsors supporting it - so many people in the industry are taking a "wait and see" approach. It's exciting to be at the forefront of this kind of entertainment, but a little scary at the same time (mostly exciting, though).
We absolutely hope that you all enjoy "Prom Queen" - the support of our fans will help us continue making new stories on the internet, especially the Second Season of "Sam Has 7 Friends." 'Because there are some fates worse than death...'
Thanks for sticking with us!
Douglas, Chris, Chris, and Ryan.
