Because TJ's are... better? This episode would have been served well (and maybe half its length) if the dramatic pauses were done away with. I guess it was kind of... moving?... but seeing as "I'm done" and "I can't do this anymore" were basically the only things uttered the entire video, and we had to wait a good 10 seconds to even hear one... I dunno... In summary it was boring.

I can imagine people will disagree with me, and that's OK. But I find this "iris" character 10 times more interesting than Paul & Andrea. I think he reallly cared about Bree. Is Paul&Andrea really more popular than iris?

Well it's hard to gauge spin-off "popularity", I mean no spin-off is really huge or anything. The biggest spin-offs have all been made by people who were more than fans, whether possibly connected like CiW, so good that he eventually did become connected like OpA, and just plain talented filmmakers like Jermony's MadAt (well not a spin-off but something which most of the fans gravitated to.) The most popular spin-off done by a regular 'fan' without extra skills seems to have been itscassie, because no one can resist a good mystery. Iris has known to... annoy the members of the phorum (though most likely those generations of fans had left long ago and don't watch his stuff.) He's probably hardly known to the people there now and as such barely gets any hits. I don't think he actually really 'cared' about Bree as so much as he's an aspiring actor playing a role. He's gotten some coaching over the years from Dr. Immant trying to help him make it better, not sure if this episode was one of them or not. I mean I can't imagine what he said there coming from real emotion, as we all know Bree is fake and one can only show so much real emotion for the character via vlogs when you are trying to play a character in the Breeniverse yourself.

Having read many old lonelygirl15.com postings on the subject, it would appear that Cassie Is Watching was the face (head?) that launched a thousand ships. But, in retrospect I suppose, it appears to have truly altered the direction of the whole lonelygirl15 project.

If thesis students 50 years from now look back and research LG15, CiW would indeed be seen as a watershed moment which changed it forever. With just a simple little tantalizing video, 1000 ships (aka "Cassholes") were launched into a frenzy of unimaginable proportions. A thread about the video hit like 75 pages long within like 12 hours, it was absurd. This was the same time as the reveal, but the spotlight and even the entire show was actually being eclipsed by this little video about a (head) being dropped into the swimming hole.
As CiW took a darker turn (perhaps too dark) various people including us decided for the safety of all we should drop it, because things were getting too insane (and frankly annoying). The Creators denied all knowledge of who CiW was, but suspicious still persists amongst those who remember or care. For example much later we found that I believe it was Greg Goodfried's sister who wrote on Alli Danziger's wall something about a severed head in a bag... this of course matched speculation surrounding what fans thought was in the bag (wasn't it AC who first came up with that hilarious theory?) The message seemed to implicate they were involved... and as we know Alli D's friend Amanda Goodfried turned her into a spin-off star herself post-Cassie. Amanda has done a whole lot of the side-stuff with LG15, and I would not be surprised one bit if it was she who did CiW (the Creators themselves denied involvement... but Amanda isn't a Creator. NikkiB denied being canon or connected to the LG15 project long after the actress was revealed to be Amanda Goodfried's real-life good friend. If NikkiB was not considered as being involved with the Creators by the Creators, then perhaps that explains their claim that CiW was not connected either despite possibly being orchestrated by one of their wives or other friends? They've been known to twist the truth in the past to save face) and frankly I don't see how a totally random unrelated fan could possibly have found the exact spot of the swimming hole without any help at all. Some have said that some people know those parks very well and could have recognized it, however as we know more recent LA fan gatherings have barely drawn anyone- to assert that a fan who also happens to have a deep knowledge of LA area parks took this initiative and did all that themselves.
I could talk in circles about CiW speculation so I better stop, but basically the moral of the story is while the world has been silent on the disavowed CiW, I don't see how anyone except friends/spouses of the Creators could have possibly pulled that off, unless they had a stalker (which they didn't seem too concerned about). If it was a random fan, don't you think they might have eventually come forward with such an explosive secret after it was long ended? I mean itscassie revealed herself once the show was over, why not CiW? It could be because those same CiW people are involved with the series to this day and keep their secrets close. Also Glenn, famous for 'bringing down Cassie', still has some secrets of his own (Tachyon uploading a video around the same time LG15 first started? How?). If I really wanted to speculate wildly, I might even suggest he was enlisted by the Creators to 'kill Cassie', so to speak, since she had gotten so out of hand. I mean hacking someone's phone... without their permission... is illegal... yet nobody seemed to mind, and as it just so happened that his own OpAphid took off and was 'canonized' thanks to her death. Makes you wonder if this canonization occured long before it actually went public...

Hye, I was either not around for CiW, or totally uninterested (I forget which), so that was a fascinating read.

Maybe the truth is stranger than fiction, in this case. The day there's a market for it, I'll be writing a "tell all." LOL.
But really, you give me (and others) far too much credit, HyeMew--at least as far as foresight is concerned.
However, the person behind CiW really did change the rules of the game. If anything, it tapped into much of the speculation around LG15 at a time when a large portion of the fanbase was receptive to its darker take on creepy religions.
It also showed that a grass roots series could be marketed through an implied "tangental" connection to another online series (which LG15 did themselves at the beginning with Bree "shouting out" other vloggers).
As for me...well, I had a story from a screenplay outline I'd written back in 2001 about a secret religious society and its "black ops" department vs. a secret agent investigating them. I also had some of the YouTube and domain names in place when I'd thought about telling that story online in January of 2006.
So when I finally had the lightbulb go off to position it as a form of tangental/non-contradictory original fiction, I tested the waters...and after the establishing videos to set things up, you can see that my original storyline was getting started with "The Action of An Enemy" video. And of course...LG15 came knocking a good 3-4 days after that posting, completely throwing things into a state of disarray I've still yet to recover from. LOL.
And I have my own theories RE: CIW, but I know enough to know that no one knows and apparently the PM wants it that way. But it definitely wasn't me or Miles/Mesh/Greg/Amanda.

Oh no, this thread has re-infected me with Cassieitis. I hate not knowing things, and this has to be one of the most irritating things that I don't know. I mean it's not quite at the "what is the meaning of life," level, but it's pretty damn close. It's definitely up there with 'how were the pyramids created," that's for sure.

How were the pyramids created, what happened to D. B. Cooper, and how were random mystery fans able to find the exact location of the swmming hole without any direction or assistance?! Leonard Nimoy needs to do a show on this new last one! Glenn knows more than he lets on! Let's chase him around Anchor Cove with pitchforks until he gives us more information

How fascinating that the DNA in his case, unlike so many other alleged royals, actually matched. And that they had such samples after all that time, but then again keeping relics of the dead like that was all the rage in the 19th century.

It's good that they did hold on to these relics, so they can study them now. That story was really fascinating, Suze. Unfortunately Ms Cassie will not ever be this intriguing. I think it still bugs me at times because I sometimes am still in that mindset of LG15 having a greater storyline and meaning behind it than it actually does - I kind of want it to freak me out again, you know. At one stage this show had the upper hand and I was in awe of it, but that hasn't been the case for a long time.
And secondly I want to know how someone found the exact location a couple of days after the Swimming video was shot, and then found the park location as well and managed to pull off two fairly well edited and constructed videos. It is possible they were just by a fan, but if it was just a fan I would think they would want to come out eventually.
I think it is more likely that they were created by someone with film experience who had some connections/ties to the creators. If this were the case, it makes more sense for why they don't come out. 1. because the second video was so controversial, and 2. because the creators decided to make Cassie an open source character that would never appear. I just think if this person/people knew/know the creators the respect they would have for them and for LG15 would be more of a reason to keep quiet, than it would be for a random fan to keep quiet because it's cool. Though having the upper hand and being cool is a valid reason. I'm just thinking of what would be more likely.
