LOL, if your answer was "Well, you're being a leetle bit hypocritical but we love you anyway," my answer would have been a chagrined "Touche."
But I like this way better.

I have said this before and I will say it again. I have a day job. I have four furbabies and a husband. I have hobbies and interests outside of the internet. (yes, I really do have a life) I love coming to the Cove as a place to learn about topics I might never otherwise be exposed to. You are all smart and funny and I cannot believe how diverse we are! I started a thread a while back listing all the things I learned about - some practical and others, like sex majick, that may not apply to my life but are really interesting to know (who knows what might come up at a cocktail party!).
Anyway, I would love to be exposed to more new things. Blogs, vlogs, flogs (fake logs aka IMS). Generally it is the conversation we have here that winds up being more interesting than the actual media. But we definitely need more fodder!

Yeah, this is what I like about the Cove most of all too. The conversations inspired by the videos, and by other topics that come up. I'm going to go find that thread on what we learned from the series and revive that.
The idea of focusing on other IMS assumes that there are other good ones waiting in the wings. I think there are. Must be countless people who have watched the lonelygirl videos, though "meh, but what if..." and some of those people are probably developing ideas as we speak. For the clever student/aspiring film-maker this is such a golden opportunity.

Well, I'm sorry I let you all down then. Ah, only women appreciate the fine art of the subtle, yet controlled guilt trip. But seriously, you let nobody down. You helped jump start this community, if it weren't for you we might not be here. But the truth is, LG15 is only one facet of this new medium that we are all discovering together. And from the looks of it, it might not be around for very much longer. I would hate to lose this fine company and discussion with all of the Covers! If the Creators don't want to diversify they'll be out of a product in a couple of weeks. Their call, maybe they have had different intentions all along. No reason for us to walk into the night as well though ... we can simply add a little more diversity and prosper going forward. No big secret I have been all for opening up a couple of extra piers down harbour road for quite some time now.

As you can all see the Cove has just gone through some rezoning, LG has been downsized and other IMS are being given more space to grow. I also shipped off to the recycling bin a lot of the old and pretty much forgotten threads, which were still hanging around. So if you suddenly get the desire to relive the excitement of outing LG, go dig around in the trash and you should be able to find some nice souvenirs. I think the new (and I hope improved) Anchor Cove is pretty easy to find your way around, but if you have any questions about what goes where or what happened to a thread you love, just let me know and I will try to point you in the right direction. You may have noticed that all these new districts at the Cove have rather plain names. That is because I though it might be fun to let you guys have a shot at adding character to the new board names. Check out the Name the Cove Contest.

I see lots of people lurking on the cove from time to time. Some who used to post more in the past and haven't post recently, some who have never posted but i see at the bottom list of viewers often enough to recognize their handle.
i am interested in hearing what you like and don't like about the cove, and what you would like to see here.
I realize we can't turn back the clock to the two weeks before Bree was outed -- is that fatal?
Feel free to PM me, i promise to keep your identity confidential if you wish.

I left long ago...the big drive for me was proving that the videos were staged.
Personally...I think as a community...these kinds of things will just evolve naturally. Perhaps The children of Anchor Cove Will spend more time focusing on the internet mini-series...or Youtube in general.
One of the most recent debates on Youtube, has to do with cheating. Some people spam, others create false accounts to vote on their videos, Some use URL refreshers to elevate their videos to "most viewed" status.
There is also the constant battle between corporate sponsors of content (CBS posts regularly) and independant artists.
We are all Children, in the sense that this is an emerging form of entertainment, and I imagine that such discussions will naturally evolve.

Oh, hey, Shont -- Amber's cousin, right? For some reason I was thinking about you among the people who had gone missing just the other day.

Yeah... that's me...
I'm still very interested in the Youtube stuff...but my interest in LG15 went down fairly quickly. I come by every now and again... and didn't notice the revamp until today.
I might actually start posting again.

I agree with the sentiment of this thread. I love most of the people here, but it simply isn't the same without LG15. I was so tied up in it 2 months ago. But now I am not interested in the slightest, haven't watched a video in god knows how long. Maybe if we find something else to talk about then I will turn up more often. But well....hmpm. PS I noticed in Tel's original post about loosing good posters. I am hoping that includes me

You guys remind me a lot of the fans of the Spot back in 1995 when it was revealed that the Spot wasn't real.
Some people left in disgust but lots of people stayed and the community grew and florished. One of the coolest things about that community was that the fans who made up that community became a cohesive group of friends who even 9 years after the Spot ended are mostly still in contact with each other.
I see a lot of similarities in reading the posts on this site. It's fine that the newest, latest show isn't your "cup of tea" but many of you will discover that the common interest that brought you all together is something that will keep a lot of you together going forward.

Yes, it starts out a fansite and ends up a Bohemian coffeehouse...
