Brazillian: We don't have a newsletter, but, when you come to the forum to the announcements there is a thread called "New News" that only I can edit, where I put the top headlines for the day I'm sure it will be helpful

Thanks Alissa. I will follow your advice and read at least the new news. This is such a great and exciting "game" I don't want to loose any key info about the mystery. Jeez, and to think I didn't even heard about LG15 10 days ago... Talk about an addictive personality (brazilian_fan still cursing whoever invented something called business trip...)

Okay, here's some suggestions.
1. Open this board to guest access. Most people lurk before they join. The current configuration prevents that. And, many would might join have no way to know that this board is different than the official board. The other board consistently has 50% guest access.
2. Revise the FAQ to read more like "Please avoid double posting and duplicate information". Frankly, I would drop both rules. Nobody deliberately posts duplicate information and if you're having a problem with someone, just let them know. As for double posting, why is this such a big deal? At the very least, the rules should be inviting, not accusatory.
3. Change the "Warning about CassieIsWatching" to something that says we prefer not to discuss this on this board. Frankly, that warning seriously turned me off and I'm not a real CiW follower. If you consider CiW off-topic fine, just say so, but the current message is pretty threatening and severe.
4. Change the title of the board to clearly say "Unofficial". This board looks more official than the real official board now.
The General FAQ says "largest and most active". Clearly, that's no longer the case. Right now there are 3 members online. The official board has 114. This board had a much larger number of members, now it does not. Someone used the term "insular". Maybe some feel this is a more select group, but I think it could be more inclusive and would benefit from more discussion.
This was an inclusive community. It can be again. These are my suggestions. I hope you will consider them and this can again be the largest and most active.

#1: cb, i think the board is open to guests now, based on either yours or someone else's recent suggestion.
#4: i suppose its more true to say we're the largest fan-run forum, or largest LG15-only forum. the main board is running about 67-70% ciw posts now.

If We Build It, Will They Come?
Thought I would throw this out. If the Mods were to create a thread that the Breester and DB could post to (in character!) I think we might regain some or our interest. I realize that this would be dicey at best.
This would take a few things to work:
Total Suspension of Disbelief on the part of all posters. Tough but could be done.
Probably a mod protocol that would require all posts to be monitored by mods before they appeared. This would prevent YT style "Fakerz!" nonsense. Don't know that this would be even possible with ProBoards.
Obviously this would require Miles, the on-screen talent, or another person on the team to post in character(s) and have accounts with Alissa that were validated to be coming from the team.
As they have not done this on their own site, it has little chance of happening here I think. I think they have really let this aspect of the interactivity slide, probably due to the YT style comments.
Anyway, chew on this. I am sure there are many other reasons why this would not work... It might be worth a try set up a safe place for them to do this here in the Cove and then see if they "bite" as it were.
Maybe they will steal this idea and use it on their own the phorum. I think THAT would generate a lot more eyeballs that the ciw shit and focus back on the brand/original concept.
Edit After #0046: OK, at least Daniel is READING the forums. It may not be a big jump to have them post...

I like my rules, I like my warning, I like my Titles, and I changed your first suggestion DAYS ago. <3 Don't yell at me about something I could not possibly have known because the last "news" posting on this board is from September 15. I just love to compare. Here: "If you double post, your second post will be deleted no matter what, even if it held the secret to life." There: "We will keep this section short and sweet. Just please don’t do it. If after making a post you suddenly realize you forget a point, instead of posting again, just edit your original post. Also, try to make sure your post has something of a point to it. We understand getting excited and impatient for a video to get posted, but we would rather not see a hundred “Have you uploaded the vid yet Cu?” style posts again." Here: "Anything to do with CassieIsWatching/MyspaceCassie/EbayCassie will be subject to IMMEDIATE deletion. If you re-post on that subject manner after your first deletion, you will be IP banned." There: "We are not interested in censoring people, we want you talk about whatever you want to talk about, please just keep it in the appropriate forums. Thank You. " Glad you like your rules so much. I think plenty of people have voted on this already. This board is rapidly being reduced to people talking about "quality vs. quantity" and how much the other board posts about CiW, while the newest video has a sum total of 6 comments on it, one of which is a mention of CiW. But, hey, you reap what you sow.

Hi Cbowen4, thanks for your messages. It made a lot of us think about the rules on the board, and whether they make the most sense. I, for one, am sorry that you don't like the rules and the tone in which they were presented.
I guess the moderators made the decision that this board would not be focused on CiW the way the main board is. While you find it frustrating that they made this decision, a lot of us find it frustrating that the talk boards of lonelygirl15.com are comprised primarily of people that don't even like lonelygirl.
CassieIsWatching is clearly more popular in the forum world, and therefore, so is the other board. For a lot of us here at the cove, Lonelygirl started as an obsession in July or August, but now it's more akin to our favorite TV show -- we have careers and friends and families -- and the fewer amount of active threads allows us to have our fan community and also our lives.
It's not for everyone, and I'm sorry you were turned off.

cbowen: The difference with the second one is.......... two different people wrote it. As I am Admin, mine overrules.
And the first one? Yeah. You have time to edit a double post before the Mod Squad ((aka, me, as the other moderators basically have sectioned themselves out into techie work)) deletes it. Just because you can not abide by the rules, and everyone else can, doesn't mean we're going to change them.

I think the difference is, one was written by an American and the other was written by a Canadian - we're just plain nicer

for anyone who has read America by John Stewart, Terry is our Samantha Bee.
"Would you Mind If I told you how we do it in Canada?
The story of America's independence from England is very well known, but did you know Canada was also once part of the British empire? It's true! We Canadians threw off the same yoke as you, only we took a more leisurely route to liberation. In fact, you might say, we've been "declaring" our "independence" for more than 200 years! Kind of!
Our style of revolution centered less on bloodshed and guerilla warfare and more on the time-tested strategy of 'not making a fuss.' . . . "
