Now, I'm not a beautiful girl, and so I'm sure there are things I don't understand, but is it actually plausible that a girl like Cara would be unable to find a man?

Yeah quite plausible I reckon.
Forming relationships is not just about how good you look. I think that's a myth pushed out by the advertising and movie crowd. Personality and confidence is much more important.
There's also a theory that beautiful people have trouble getting hitched with average people because the average person shys away not thinking themsleves good enough to make a move. This in turn affects the confidence of the good looking person.
However you look, if you have personality and confidence, you will suceed. But in the series, the Cara character has certain issues. We know she goes to therapy, takes medication, is overly motherly, has high standards, and has obsessive cleaning behaviours. Any of this could put others off. Combined with her high standards it means dating opportunities may be limited.

Wait wait wait!!
What do you mean by "to find a man"?
Jennifer has already assumed she wants a long term relation, marry, have children, so on..
When I watched the video what I understood is "So I'm absorved in my inner world and so focused on my inmature undeveloped personality I just wasnt available or ready to allow anyone to close on me.. But I just suddenly realized that Hey! I'm a woman too! And I have some other needs to cover.."
Or.. To make it short: How do I get laid without losing respect for myself.
I dont think she has any problem at all.. She probably has a lot of work keeping males a safe distance from her.. But she just cant get through her big trauma and that keeps her closed "for bussines".
Anyway.. I propose we all volunteer in the noho youtube to make her happy at least for this 3 weeks until new year.

I wasn't intending to assume she wanted a long term relationship. I was trying to interpret "finding a man" in the broadest possible sense. Whether it be for a one night stand or something longer I still believe you need that confidence to make the initial approach.
